UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I ditch Directv for digital cable when I move to SLC. They say..."Oh no problem to get all the NBA games... we carry League Pass." Bill Walton says on the League Pass commercials that you "get every NBA game played right on your own TV" The League Pass website says that if you order the package you will get "every NBA game that is televised that isnt available on national TV" BS!!!!!!! Comcast does not carry NBA TV for some reason even though they have league pass and list "NBA.com TV" as a channel (it is simply Bill Walton league pass ads run over and over again) Since the game was on NBA TV and Comcast doesnt carry it, I was unable to watch the Rockets game. Who knows how many other games I will miss this season Rox or otherwise....that people with Directv, Dish Network, Time Warner and Cox cable DO get for the SAME PRICE!!!!????!!!!! This is false advertising on the part of the League (who I assume controls league pass) Indemand (who controls ppv cable) and Comcast (who is of course my crappy, dishonest, thieving cable company) This is highway robbery! I paid $139.00 and im less than a week into it and already they are cheating me! Comcast BLOWS!!!!! carry on....
I recently switched to Comcast, and it seems they does carry NBA TV. I watched three Rox games last week. The game against NJ was braodcasted though. I have no idea why.
I, on the hand, just moved from Time Warner cable to Direct-TV. Can anyone tell me if I may miss anything with Direct-TV?
Was or wasn't? The first 3 games were broadcast because they were on regular NBA League pass channels. The one against NJ was not because it was supposed to only be available on the NBA TV channel which Comcast doesn't carry to my knowledge. So are you saying you saw the NJ game on Comcast cable? If so, where do you live?
I checked out the rockets schedule and counted 6 remaining games on nbaTV. I too am annoyed that I don't get nbaTV. I live in Austin and have Grande cable. They just got league pass this year for the first time (which is totally weak. i had to call them and beg them to get it this year). But, no nbaTV. They say they are still in contract negotiations, or some bull$hit. It's unfair that TimeWarner and Satellite T.V. get nbaTV with their league pass, while we (Grande, Comcast, etc.) pay the same price but DON't get it. I blame the NBA too, those money hungry grubs. But I guess it ain't that bad. Now I have to leave the comfort of my living room and go out (ohhh, the horror!!!) to watch those 6 games at a sports bar. I guess it won't hurt to be a little more social.....
I have Comcast as well. Here is the deal....NBA TV before the season started negotiated with Time Warner, Cox and one other large cable company to CARRY the NBA TV channel. COMCAST was NOT in these negotiations! I believe that Comcast is the ONLY large cable company NOT to be carrying NBA TV. I have had enough. I am going to DirecTV to get NBA TV and NBA League Pass (something Comcast in my area ALSO does not carry! )
I have Comcast (yup, it does truly and royally suck). I only got to see the NJ game because it was on the YES network (I live in NJ) and not because Comcast carries NBA TV on the network. Dr of Dunk is correct... Comcast doesn't have NBA TV so we'll miss the several games that are on NBA TV even though NBA League Pass misleadingly claim to show every game. Someone should start a class action lawsuit.
Sorry. I meant to say NJ game was not broadcast. Yes, I watched other 3 games on league pass channels.
Bad move to switch to comcast from direct TV. I and many other comcast subscriber missed lots of good games last year on NBA TV because of comcast not carrying it. Knowing that, I switched to Dish Network this year. Of course, I moved into my new house too, with a 57'' sony HDTV and free dish DVR. Life cant be better.
Actually to answer your question no...I paid $159.00 I would know this because...guess what? My NBA League pass was shut off today! I ordered last week and they told me it was 20$ off of $159...but when I call today...I find that the inept employee who I spoke with when I ordered didnt know what she was talking about. Not only that she didnt get the package ordered correctly hence it had to be done agian to get it turned back on today! I have yet to speak to anyone at Comcast who has a clue. They dont care that it is all false advertising and a rip-off...and its pissing customers off! I will miss 6 games out of 82 that I am paying for? And thats only ROX GAMES who knows how many others? At the least I ought to get $12 off my package price...thats the value of those games if you break it out (of course they are much more valuable to me) They wouldnt give me a thing besides an empty "sorry" I had no idea Comcast was so bad...I switched from Directv since I didnt like them too much at all...but these guys take the cake. I would switch back in a second, but they wont refund the price of the package...nor will they refund all the freaking installation charges I paid for the idiot to do nothing more than come to my house and hook up the cables to the boxes he brought. Highway robbery I tell you!!! They got me by the shorthairs based on lies and more lies. I say class action lawsuit against the league, indemand, and comcast...this conspiracy starts at the top!
No...its not too bad...if you are prepared for it. I invited a couple of my friends in town who like Rox ball over to watch the game. Because anyone in their right mind would believe Bill Walton and the NBA's official website when it says the package I paid for would deliver EVERY game to my living room. Now I will plan to watch those six games elsewhere...like on DIRECTV!!!!!! ....and I will plan my lawsuit. I have tapes of Bill Walton. I have saved the NBA.com pages in offline folders....I believe we have a case.
FYI, I posted this in another thread, but I talked to a Comcast tech guy (the guy that physically comes out and troubleshoots, not a phone support person) when I first subscribed to NBA League Pass, and he was about as pissed as I was. He called me and asked me what the problem was before he wasted his time. I told him that my problem and he said something like "I know exactly what the problem is, and I can't believe I'm having to do this again today". He said it was a simple configuration thing on their end that didn't require him to come out. He said he'd call the support people up and tell them how to fix it. I chatted with him a bit further and he said that they had hired a ton of new/inexperienced folks that absolutley had no clue what they were doing and had minimal training at best. I guess that explained all my issues. I'm having an issue now where my NBALP channels are all on the wrong channels. I have games going on on one channel that should be on another. They sent another tech out and he said they just made a huge conversion for HDTV purposes that completely screwed things up. I called Comcast and they said they had no idea what the problem was with my channels being all screwed up. Oh well, as long as I get my Rockets, I don't care what channel they're on, and satellite is not an option for me at the moment since I live in an apartment that faces the wrong way.
DOD They are really all clueless! Its not just me? I guess I feel better now??? Im telling you this just wont do. Legal action is necessary! Someone must be held accountable!!!
Boy I sure wish I had your problem!!! My cable provider here in Kentucky does not even offer league pass!! I dont want to really change to dish so it really sucks living here!!!
Honestly everyone, if you have access to Dish Network- subscribe. It is great. I have absolutely no problems and I get NBA LP fine- and I only payed $159 or three installments of $53. If you bought League Pass before November 4th, you should have gotten $20 of the normal price of 179. This is because they were offering a promotion to early subscribers. No matter what provider you had- you should have gotten that 20 bucks off. But honestly, I live in Phoenix and I have had absolutely no issues with LP and I love it! get Dish Network if you can! You also get free installation and three months free right now.
Crap... checked my Comcast bill. Those f*@#!%s have a stupid $2 service charge just to sign you up for NBA League Pass. Apparently they'll waive the service fee only if you sign up via their website (which is obviously not mentioned anywhere) and they never mentioned this at any time. Given that I had to wait so damn long to get through to a service "professional", I should have gotten a discount instead! Comcast sucks!!! Switching to DirecTV and DSL as soon as I can!
