THink about this guys , we all know what kind of player Sabonis is , a big center that can shoot from the outside therefore taking out the center from the opposition out of the block . The rockets are banking on Collier being the type of player that will make his shots consistent enough to where he has to be guarded by the opposing center... in this case I see Shaq out of the block therefore giving Cat/Wink and Anderson a chance to attack the hoop ... our second guy is a "modern day Bullard" as was said on the radio earlier today..... but can do a little bit more than just shoot the ball .. (now we know how important Matt is to this team , he now has his own understudy !) I can see where the rockets are heading w/this picks and I can see why they opted for Collier , they have LA in mind and the Blazers too ... Collier would play PF against the Blazers therefore taking out a good deal of their D away from the hoop. As much as some of us may not like the rox picks we have to see beyond the numbers and see where they fit our system. I heard Rudy talk about the Collier addition on a sound bite on Fox News tonight. He said something like (not exact quote) "I want to see how teams are going to defend a Francis-Collier pick and roll, this guy has range out to the 3 pt line. Reason Sabonis matched up decently w/ Shaq was because the PFs could also shoot the ball well (Wallace & Grant). Shaq will guard Cato vs us. If it's not a layup Cato can't make it. ------------------
