    Two pretty unexciting games yesterday with Stanford and Cal-State Fullerton winning easily.

    Looks like Rice is about to blow it open against SWMS in the first inning...bases loaded, 1 out.

    Looking forward to the Texas game tonight, but I'll have to record it...have dugout seats for the Rangers' game!

    Cinderella, the ball is over. SMS is out of their league. Rice got a bye. We will see how the Astros fare on Monday.

    Austin Davis with the bomb! Great to see a Memorial classmate succeeding in sports.

    Rice like the Astros is a great regular season team and a poor post season team.

    Rice is the favorite to win bracket 2. We will see if they can live up to expectations.

    Ah, makes sense. I've heard a lot of people that give Texas the advantage over Rice, so I wouldn't say there's a clear-cut favorite out of that bracket.

    True. On paper Rice is better. On the field though it's probably even. They should win bracket 2 on their pitching alone.

    Several sports books have Rice and CSF as the favorite to win it all, but betonsports.com has UT-Austin as the favorite. It depends where you do your gambling.

    Niemann is a beast. SMS will pose problems in the losers bracket. They are a confident team that just ran into a 6'9" monster today.

    Very impressed by the Owls today. Looked great out there. Good thing we have our best pitcher imo, Wade Townsend ready for the winner of Miami/UT tonight.

    Niemann is just plain nasty.

    Who's the 6'9" guy who pitched against UH in game 3? Is that Townsend? He's scary but even Randy Johnson can get spanked in the post season :D

    T_J and bigtexxx, congrats on the win. Should be fun if UT wins tonight!

    Damn I wish I was there.

    ESPN is also comparing the Owls to the Astros so it's just not me...

    Sinisi = Berkman
    Kolkhurst = Biggio
    Townsend = a right handed Randy Johnson?

    Niemann is the 6'9 pitcher who was called a right handed Randy Johnson. Townsend is only 6'4. Niemann shut down UH in game two of the super regionals. Townsend took care of game 3.

    D'oh missed TJ's post about Niemann being 6'9"...

    All the pressure is on Rice and their 2-6 record in Omaha.

    The players who are on the team are now 1-2 or so. Some are 1-0.

    I think the pressure is on last year's champ to repeat.
