My girlfriend has an interest in going back to college. However, she is a single mother and can't afford to go to school without some kind of goverment aid. She heard that single mothers can get some serious grants from the goverment, covering some of tuition and even housing. Since she hates her job, she really wants to do this if she can work it out, but she has no idea where to start the inquiry. She asked me, but I didn't know what to tell her. Since this BBS represents the single biggest conglomeration of varying knowledge that I am aware of, I prostrate myself before you all and beg of your wisdom.

Seriously, if anyone knows where I could find out about this, please post about it here. I greatly appreciate it.

    Check it out
    student financial aid

As far as I'm aware, she should get some good help on this - I've had a few friends who are single mothers who've mentioned financial aid.... I don't remember exactly what they said though.
