I apologize if these are stupid questions.

If someone gets a degree from UH-Downtown, would they present themselves as having a degree from UH or UH-Downtown (i.e. is UH-Downtown denoting a campus or is a stand-alone institution?)?

If someone gets a degree from UH-Downtown's School of Business, would it be any less prestigious than if it was from UH's School of Business?

    TIA for any feedback.

I wouldn't say either are "prestigious" but isn't it like asking if UTSA is the same as UT-Austin?

I would think UH-Downtown.. since they are a separate campus than the UH main campus.

I'm not too sure on it but if UH-downtown is a branch of UH like UH-clearlake is... then they would have to present themselves as having the degree from UH-downtown. I'm pretty sure though that UH-downtown is a branch and a different school than UH-main.

For your second question, I don't know how to answer that... really don't know anything about the business schools at either school.

It's a different school from UH main campus so it would be shown as UH-downtown. UH-downtown were actually close to changing their name to Lone Star College.

UH-D and UH are separate institutions withing the same university system. Just how UT, UTSA, UTEP, etc. are separate schools, so too are UH, UH-D, and UH Clear Lake. A graduate of UH-D would be disingenuous if they claimed to be a UH grad.

Yes. Again, different school, different teachers, different reputation, different level of prestige. People might rag on UH, but the standards at UH-D are really low. They have open admissions which pretty much means that you just have to have a high school diploma or GED to be accepted. The difference between UH and UT is closer than the distance between UH and UH-D.

Put down whatever you want. Nobody checks up on resumes anyway.

I am sure McDonald's won't care whether you are from UH or UH-Downtown.

IMO, the spinoff campus school has no identity apart from it's main campus until it gets it's own sports teams.

My wife got two degrees from UHCL. I consider UH her Alma matter. She doesn't. But it's fun to say, because she gets annoyed.

UH is a Tier 1 school. Just like UT-Austin and TAMU.

    UH-Downtown is separate.

 I don't think employers feel that way when they look at your resume.

The reputation of UH will always be in question that way until admissions are tougher and other aspects of the school gain more success.
