Since I'm a Senior this year, I was wondering if anyone on the board knows any good college counselors.

Since I go to a public school where the student to counselor ratio is somewhere around 600:1, I was wondering if anyone has any information on these.

I got approached by one, but they're located in California and it would be phone conferences, etc etc, but they did claim 95% acceptance rate to one of the top three choices.

No college counselor can guarantee an acceptance unless they can "hook you up" by being on the inside or having some favors owed to them.

That's true, but they do know what colleges are looking for to a superlative degree. They know what colleges are looking for, how to sell yourself.

Did you go to UH? Seems like only people that went to UH say that. No offense.

I think it was more of a commentary on the rapidly declining value of a bachelor's degree.

Hmm, I transferred to UH from Virginia Tech if that makes any difference?

True that. I do think grad programs factor in your school. For example if you go to school in Arizona, your screwed. GPA calculations are different at different places too. But ya, everyone and their mom has a degree now.

Are you talking about Admissions Counselors, Academic Advisors, or some clearinghouse that promises to get you into College?
