Rice is trying to hold off Tulane right now... we were up 9-1 until recently, now it's 9-5... what a crazy game... anyway, post your super regional thoughts here as the weekend progresses.

Wayne Graham is the best coach in college baseball. In what is clearly a rebuilding year for Rice in which we are starting anywhere from 4 to 6 freshmen per game, Rice is one win away from the college world series. Keep in mind that Rice has one of the absolute hardest paths to get to Omaha - on the road at LSU (the biggest crowds in the nation) and on the road at Tulane (the #1 team in the country). Amazing. I don't want to get too pumped up quite yet, though, because Tulane is very capable of winning the next two, but I gotta like our chances with Lamar High School's own Joe Savery on the mound manana.

If that storm doesn't move quickly UT(west)/Ole Miss are going to have to wait a few days to get that in. That could prove to screw up pitching rotations in Omaha for whoever wins that series.

UT(east) and Nebraska are already going to Omaha...

Since UT and Rice are scheduled to play at the same time tomorrow, I wonder who gets screwed on television.

I have Rice and Tulane on...

I can't really respect college baseball.

I'd like them to use some wood bats instead of metal/aluminum bats.

UT owned Ole Miss for 8 innings and gave away the win in 1 inning. Unlucky one of the best closers in college choked. Oh well.

Rice better hope the 9th didn't jumpstart the Tulane offense. That was ugly.

We got that game on TV until it was over... guess it is closer to Austin out here than Houston... anyway, we feel your pain. Of course, it doesn't really make any difference whether we lost 1-0 or 7-0 except for in terms of psychological motivation, which could work either way.

Hopefully they schedule our games at different times tomorrow...

Baylor looked strong today.....if the Bears hadn't left everyone on base yesterday, they'd be getting ready for their trip to Omaha.

If UT wins tonight, all 3 Texas teams would be playing tomorrow---good national exposure with all the games on either ESPN or ESPN2.

    uh-oh...

we had better not lose our coverage again. Today was enough. If they show Baylor and Clemson, I am going to scream... on behalf of everyone who has time during the day to watch in the first place. :(

Rice up 3-2 in the 7th.

Rice's pitcher is horrible but gets the job done. Looks like he throws BP

    LET'S GO RICE
    LET'S GO RICE
    .........

wish I could be there to keep the cheer going, or even could have a long enough break to run home and turn on the ESPN2. :)

Tulane takes the lead 6-3 in the 8th. New pitcher in for Rice.
