How far can they really go as far as damaging your credit? Can you decide to just not pay and they'll go away after a while? I have an issue with a company asking me for money, in my mind I feel I do not owe. They have since submitted it to Collections. So how far can these collection agencies go? Is there even a limit to how much they can damage your credit? At this point I don't even want to pay them anymore, especially since they've already made several derogatory reports to the Credit Agencies over the past couple months. What should I do? Are they going to keep taking hits on my credit?
yeah i do IT work for one out here in LA but yeah depending on the state you are in the laws vary but for example we send out credit reports, good or bad on a monthly basis for all new accounts and then for all our accounts on a quarterly basis. at least from what i can over hear form the workers here they can do a decent amount and also probably report you to chex systems which will make it hard for you to open a new bank account elsewhere if you wanted.
