If there is a thread on this, I apologize. I came up with a stomach bug last night, and spent the whole day watching movies. I finally got around to watching Collateral, and boy I must say, this movie rocked!! Rivals Heat for Michael Mann's best movie. Anyone else have some opinions?
I'll buy this tonight with "On Demand" and check it out. I'm catching up too. I just saw Alien vs. Pedator and it was decent. I need to see Manchurian Candiate as well.
Ya my roommate and were both up late like 2 weeks ago, and I remembered I had borrowed Collateral from a friend. So we threw it in and stayed up until about 5 to watch it all. It kicks ass
I didn't like Alien vs Predator. I guess my main grip with that movie was with the movie boy at the Tinsel Town on Sam Houston Tollway. The dude must of been deaf! We literally moved from our seats (where we sat when we first got in) to the last row in one of the HUGE screening rooms. Other people began to do that too. It was just TOO damn loud. I like good loud bass. But it was rediculous. The sounds of them moving on the ice, i had to stick my fingers in my ears. Anyways, sorry for the hijack. Collateral wasn't bad. (isn't that the taxi one with that small dude?) Oh yeah....Tom Cruise.
I rented that the other day thru Blockbuster online. I got bored with it rather quickly and dropped it back in the mail.
Everyone's been telling me about this movie for months. I "purchased" it several months back, but never had time to watch. Finally, on Monday I took my portable DVD player to the gym and watched the whole movie while on the treadmill. The movie was so awesome that I nearly set a new PR just b/c I was so excited and started going faster and faster!!!
Hell yeah, that has to be one of the best moments I have ever seen in a movie, I bought the soundtrack today, and was crusing to that music on the way to work!
Great movie. One of the best I ever saw; it had more to do with the ideas behind the movie more than anything else. The parts where there are talking in the cab about life in general was what made the movie great IMO.
It didn't get nominated because it was laughably bad for the last half. Cruise turned into a ninja with a bad dye job and Fox became Rambo the cab driver.
I didn't care for the movies Tom Cruise was in his first 10 years of acting. However, he has much improved and I generally willing to see anything he appears in. I liked Collateral.
weird.....i got it through netflix, and I just couldn't finish it....as much as I tried. I think I finally gave up when Cruise offed like the third guy. Maybe I should try again.
I saw that in the theater last year, and I do believe Collateral was my overall favorite movie last year. It was one of a few movies where I was absolutely intrigued in the movie from beginning to end.
Eternal Sunshine was my favorite in 04, Collateral was second. I appreciated the acting in Million Dollar Baby, but I thought the plot was a little weak and the ending didn't impress me.
