    Cold Pizza was on when I went to get a coffee. They were talking about today's game between Rox and Heat. The analyst (Charles Smith?) was asked if Rox and Heat are the best two teams in the NBA right now, and he said yes. He then proceeded saying that (almost the exact words) "Houston Rockets, and San Antonio ..., ehh, I mean Houston Rockets is without a doubt the best team in the NBA right now". He didn't elaborate though (maybe ESPN thougth it was too crazy so they cut him off?)...

    that's a mighty bold statement, but the Spurs wouldn't be the best in the west with Duncan going down...

    Arguably, one of the best, sure...THE best...that has yet to be proven.

    I'd say this sorta depends on how injuries play out.

    We'll be getting Juwan back at about the beginning of the playoffs. Will he be able to bring us back to contention? or will he be rusty?

    Duncan just went down with an ankle injury (for at least 2 weeks). will it take longer to heal? will he be back in time for the playoffs? Will he be rusty?

    Ray Allen went down with a sprained ankle, too. Ask the same questions.

    That said, are we better than Dallas? Phoenix? Sacramento? Not right now, we're not.

    But imagine if Juwan brings us back to strength, and if T-Mac gets his shooting touch back. With that mental picture, are we the best in the West?

    It's hard to say, but (with Juwan healthy and T-mac shooting) if we're not the best, we're pretty damn close.

    The Rocket's team that played the Suns a week or so ago is the best team in the NBA. The team that played Boston and the T-Wolves isn't.

    I thought the analyst was out of his mind too. He's probably a couple of days behind what is going on in the NBA -- Even without our recent two losses, I wouldn't say the Rox is "without a doubt the best team" --- one of the top two or three (before the losses), yes; without a doubt the best, I'm not sure...

    I love this BBS. An analyst says that the Rockets aren't that good, everyone's head explodes in outrage. Someone calls them the best team in the NBA, people's heads explode in outrage. :)

    I don't think anyone's upset about it, but the Rockets w/o Howard aren't the same team that's earned all the recent hype. They were certainly on a hell of a roll. Here's hoping they get themselves back into that groove come April.

    Heat by far the best team in the league with Duncan out. When Duncan is back, Spurs are close second to Heat, or you might argue they are on par right now.

    That kid Wade will do massive damage in the playoffs. Just watch and see, he has tenaciousness I haven't seen in anyone since Iverson.

    we do have the ability to beat any team. however i don't think we are the best in the nba. that would mean we are favored to win the championship which is not going to happen this year.

    although 10 years ago i'm sure we were all saying the same thing.
