This will hopefully help people of other races on this site understand black history a little more. There is a reason that African Americans in there early 50’s and above really look at this country with a different lens this the younger generation and the “majority”. I already knew the majority of this stuff because my grandfather would talk to and educate me on these matters as a young child. If you ever wanted to know why blacks are so critical of our government & its history, this may help you out little. These videos I think are a good history lesson for everybody, so we can all just keep it real here. Even though, blacks can be critical sometimes of this country I believe blacks have earned that right to be. Even with all the negatives and its racial history which still exist(including media propaganda) consciously or unconsciously from all races, there is no other country blacks would rather be…Blacks loved this country when the country didn’t love us, not just by talk, but also by fighting for it. Even when we could not vote, go to school with, work with, work with, eat with whites, ride in front of the bus, get business loans, drink out the same water fountain, or just march in peace. I didn’t make this thread because of obamas pastor, but I did think about him when I decided to post this. I noticed Wright comments didn’t really faze too many blacks, because we do indeed believe that governments have created diseases for chemical, and biological warfare. Blacks do believe that there are a lot of high ranking public officials that are KKK to in different offices around this till today. I know white people get on the offensive when they here people like Farrakhan say things about white people, but blacks understand that he is not talking to all whites. He is talking directly to the rich white closet racist that run this country and control things. I can only hope people will look at these videos with an open mind and to not just criticize, but to try to understand where the mind sets of blacks & especially older blacks come from when it obtains to racism. This thread should be locked, this is just horrible. Open racism is not acceptable against whites, just like it is not against blacks.
Report: Race & Ethnicity In America: Turning A Blind Eye To Injustice 12/10/2007 - On December 10, 2007, the ACLU released a comprehensive analysis of the pervasive, institutionalized, systemic and structural racism in America. The report, Race & Ethnicity in America: Turning a Blind Eye to Injustice, is a response to the U.S. report to the United Nations' Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) released earlier this year. The U.S. report, which the ACLU called a “whitewash,” swept under the rug the dramatic effects of widespread racial and ethnic discrimination in this country, and fails to honestly assess the ways in which racial and ethnic discrimination and inequality persist. Blanket statement = racist. Gee. Thanks for clearing that up for my poor, dumb, white ass. Who are these rich white closet racists, anyway? So what's your point, exactly? Obama gets a pass? Rev. Wright gets a pass? Racism is cool and all if its perpetuated against white people? The double standard in play here is appalling. You did remind me why I so rarely come into the D&D. Thanks, I guess.
I'm sure the videos are enlightening, but your accompanying commentary is ridiculous and embarrassing to me as a black person. We're at a point in history where resentment and paranoia such as that displayed in your comments will probably "hold us back" socially, politically and economically much more than anything else.
Don’t be so hard on yourself and it’s amazing how offended so called open minded people in here try to have an inelegant conversation about race. So what's your point, exactly? Obama gets a pass? Rev. Wright gets a pass? Racism is cool and all if it’s perpetuated against white people? The double standard in play here is appalling. You did remind me why I so rarely come into the D&D. Thanks, I guess. What did he say exactly that was racists? I don’t resent anything and nobody is paranoid, but you. You feel like my commentary is degrading and will hold back the black race (lol)? Thread has nothing to do with me! I don’t hate whites, blacks or any other race, but we should all be conscious of what is going on around us. I’m not asking anybody to like obama. James J.P Colmen,J.F.K, and Lyndon b Johnson were good friends….and as a matter a fact Johnson said Colman was one of his best friends….now tell me this. Why does Kennedy and L.B.J get a pass for being very good friends from a governor who called blacks the N word constantly on nation TV and no one batted a eye. Why do all the republican presidents speak a brown university when that’s the breading ground for the Klux Klan and the college has been openly racists? Does this make you upset also?I'm pretty sure it dosn't
You can find a copy in Jeremiah Wright's study in his million+ dollar house in the white suburbs of Chicago. Dang that racist America that is holding him back!
While I wouldn't be as overt and as critical about racism in North America (calling the rich "closet racists" isin't advancing your cause), I do beleive that you have to be either an idiot or someone who is very sheltered if you don't see the discrimination still present in our culture. It's prevelant everywhere, from comedy to police brutality cases. And this is from both sides of the playing fields; racism extends both ways. White to black, black to white, Arab to white etc. Personally though, I think the minorites of America have more to gripe about . It's hard to remember this, but only a generation has passed since the days of MLK. And even the "model minority" still remembers sobering head taxes and the blatent discrimination launched at them a century ago. It's a hard fact of life that people harbor resentment that was born years before them. Maybe it is lamentable but it still is a very legitimate issue. I mean, come on, people of any race are not encoded to commit violence. They are not born lazy. They are not born to give up. They are not born to be drug dealers or gangbangers. People who are don't go out drinking all night because that is thier fate; they are victims of circumstance and it's no coincidence that the majority of them are minorities.
So why keep bringing it up? I thought your candidate was attempting to transcend race. You just keep bringing it up over and over.
...Not every post I make is in support of Obama. And I don't support everything Obama says. As a matter of fact, being a Canadian, I can't even vote for the guy, I just stand up for him as a matter of principle. My own principle; that politics shouldn't be tampered with silly, moronic arguments meant to throw dirt on a candidate's personality/character rather this his platform. With that said, care to address my post instead of addressing my "candidate"?
Are you mad because he lives' in a big nice house, and you’re still stuck in a trailer? Maybe if a member of his church, didn’t have to get secret service protection earlier then any other presidential candidate in American history, because your friends you hang with that ware the sheets were sending him death threats. Then maybe” he wouldn’t feel that way about this perfect country.
Denial is the first step ...But besides, racism isin't just an American issue. Or a Canadian issue. Or a Russian issue, it's a global issue.
