If yall have a minute, vote for my friend in Travel & Leisure Magazine's cocktail competition thingy. Can't vouch for this drink personally, but I've had a few of his libations in the past & the man knows what's what. Don't let his current locale & place of employment fool you, he's a huge Rockets & Stros fan (& lurker on the board); if any of you Austinites had drinks at Fonda San Miguel in the past few years, he's probably been your bartender. Here's a little more info: What happens now is that out of the top 10, three will be selected to have an Iron bar Chef style competition here in LA. You can vote for my cocktail at www.beverageartschallenge.com up to 20 times per day. Not that I expect each and everyone of you to do that, just saying it's possible. The name of the cocktail is La Guera, which is Spanish for white lady. The White Lady is an old post prohibition cocktail that I thought would be great updated. He's in the final 10, and every little vote would help. CLICK THIS LINK AND VOTE, SUCKA: http://www.travelandleisure.com/promo/beverageartschallenge/ ; the drink's called "La Guera". Gracias y salud! BTW...The recipe's on the website if anyone's interested in trying it out - and so this isn't a 1-post-thread, if any of you have any drink recipes ya feel like sharing, bring it on. I have a couple written down in my box o' bar stuff somewhere around here, I'll post if I can find 'em.
