Coach should'nt have benched Von right after he made the biggest shot of the game?

That bucket he made stopped the bleeding, we were headed right for another fourth quarter collapse, then coach sits him? Wtf?

The man needs to play if hes gonna develop!

He was pissed when they showed him sit down, cussin and makin faces, even shane was shakin his head in disbelief.

We still won but i would have been pissed if i was Von too. If it was just to preserve his back for L.A., he still should have played a little more after that bucket. Wtf

    A Wafer only Fan.

Uh maybe he sat him because we had a solid lead, Wafer is injured and we need him healthy for the next round.

I think Adelman was being smart, let's not lose Von for the 2nd round by overplaying him.

TBH, it really didn't make a difference. I doubt it even hurt Wafer's morale, he understands what his role is on this team. This won't affect anything... don't make something out of nothing.

It was a great move by Rick. Von wasn't even supposed to be playing because of his injury.

We were exchanging baskets with the Blazers, and had a good lead. Why not rest him?

Wafer should thank Coach A (and TMac) to give him the chance to become a NBA rotation player.

True, true, I just want to see him REALLY break through, no more limits.

Adelman was just making sure he didn't injure himself even more, since we had a pretty comfortable lead at that point.

It was the exact right thing to do. Don't get me wrong I love Von and it was a great shot and he deserves all the acolades for it. He has turned me from a critic to a believer... a believer in his talent knowing he has some limitations. Knowing it when Von doesn't know it himself. Which is why removing him right after he made that shot was perfect. You could see it in Von's eyes. He decided forget everyone else I am going to lead this team to victory.

When he does that more often than not he struggles and makes poor decisions. He can create for himself at times and can be a great shooter at times but then he goes into these funks at times where he gets tunnel vision and doesn't see anyone else on the court and just does stupid stuff. We couldn't afford to chance him entering that mode again.

So like it or not Adelman made the right choice and in retrospect you could even say it was a brilliant decision considering how we took control of the game shortly after.

Just for that reason, it was borderline garbage time! Nobody was bein physical enough to get hurt at that time, why not let him make a few more highlights on the national stage?

I think it was the smart thing to do. Seriously, why risk further injury? It wasn't the time or the place. I think it was fortunate that he got to play at all.

the dude could barely walk this morning. The fact that he played at all on an NBA court is nuts. He always goes off against the Lakers so we need him as 100% as possible for beating them.

I was ok with last night's sustitution of Von late in the game but overall I have no clue what the hell Adelman is thinking most of the time with his substitions. Here are some things you probably saw often during the Blazer series.

-Aaron Brooks gets too many minutes, Lowry too few.
-Carl Landry is complete trash when he isn't aggressive offensively and gets killed by Aldridge and Outlaw but Adelman keeps him in while Hayes sits.
-Wafer comes in and has a good, efficient scoring quarter only to be returned to the bench so he can watch the team go 3-4 minutes without a bucket while Ron goes 1 on 5.

Adelman makes JVG look flexible with his substitutions.

Where did you get this from ?

I also thought why would you take Wafer out but it was a good move in hindsight because he wanted the starters to finish it.

Did you mean Thursday (or Wednesday) morning he could barely walk, or today? Hadn't heard anything about his status today, and obviously it's crucial to see how his body responds to having played... I'm curious.

man wafer is a game changer. but i think adelman just wanted to stick with his normal rotation. in a sense, it gives the team a consistency in terms of playing time.

but man, lowry and wafer, oh my.
