No joke, the Jazz would be 1-10 under any coach except Sloan.

It would take a top 3 finish IMO for JVG to get it.

I still don't see the Sonics making the playoffs. Lewis has cooled off, and they still do not have an inside presence.

For now it feels like they are in a dream, but I think they will soon find a rude awaking when they lose a few in a row. If the Suns come back and start winning again, then there is no way they make it. If the Suns do not however; I think they will be in the playoffs.

I think jumping from 9th in the West to 5th in the West would be pretty damn good too.

If we end up with home court, he should be a lock for COY.

Right now it's Sloan with a chance of Terry Porter and Hubie Brown, but if the Rockets continue to win at the pace their winning, expect Van Gundy to get some C.O.Y. pub. I still think Van Gundy's success as Rockets head coach will depend heavily on his ability to develop Yao, specifically turn Yao into a 20+, 10+ guy on a nightly basis. Maybe Van Gundy needs to get Yao away from the plush Westside Tennis Club and down to that gym in Rocky III where all the bruthas with attitude worked out. Yao needs to develop the eye of the tiger.

Yeah, I thought about giving him some pub. What stopped me was I think he may have lucked into a good thing when he received Allen AND Ronald Murray in the Payton trade last season. If I'm wrong and McMillan saw in Murray what 29 other GM's didn't, then hell yeah McMillan moves to the head of the class. Of course, then you have to discuss the vast improvement of Lewis so far this year............yeah, maybe Nate should get some consideration.

Sloan is doing it without anybody that could even be close to be considered a "star" let alone an all-star. If the Jazz is anywhere near .500 at the end of the season then he deserves it.

If the Rockets make the playoffs it should go to JVG because he is dealing with a very disorganized group of players who have not been able to get to the postseason.
In my opinion he has the hardest job in the NBA.

    Hardest job?
    You need to ask Sloan.

It will take FAR more than a playoff berth, IMO it would take home court advantage in the first round at the very least.
