Coach, can you explain it? Game 1: Yao Ming 38 minutes Game 2: Yao Ming 40 minutes Game 3: Yao Ming 39 minutes Do you want to Yao to finish the season earlier again? Most of people here are just fed up with this, especially in tonight's win against Thunder. There was NO REASON to keep Yao for the entire 4th quater. And Yao was begging for a rest. Coach, this guy has been injuried for his last 3 seasons and last season it was probably due to fatigue. Think about it before it is too late.
I guess, because we don't have a 7' backup center, without Yao on the court, we would get killed in the paint.
Im surprised he played two straight quarters (3-4). Usually big men especially Yao should not be playing those kind of minutes. I guess he played him at the end of the 4th because he knew we had a 2 day rest..
I have no problems with yao playing that many minutes as long as he cuts his workouts shorter during the off days. An extra five minutes of running isn't going to kill him.
I don't get it either. I mean if its a close game than yes Yao should be out there. But tonight the game was pretty much over near the end I don't get why he kept Yao in. The only thing I can come up with is that hes trying to get Yao, Tracy, and Ron as much time as they can get together no matter how the game is going.
he did this all year long last year. he does not care, he is just coaching for his job. Case in point when Yao played 51 minutes in a regular season game, MIDSEASON!
from: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...8-nba-hou&prov=sportsxchange&type=team_report Eventually, Rockets coach Rick Adelman said, he will try to limit playing time. But not now. With Shane Battier out and Tracy McGrady slowed by his sore right knee, Adelman said he would have to extend Yao Ming’s and Ron Artest’s minutes many nights. On Thursday, Yao went 41 minutes, Artest 39, with Artest needed for some of the defensive workload that Battier normally handles and both needed to provide offense the Rockets usually get from McGrady. “Tracy is probably the key guy,” Adelman said. “How much (do) you play him and is he going to be fresh at the end of the games? I don’t have that answer. You are going to see some guys play more minutes than I would have anticipated. “Right now, I don’t think it should be any problem at all. Hopefully, we get our rotations down and won’t have to worry about that as much.”
honestly I don't know what is going on in Adelman's head when we were up by like 15 and Yao was obviously exhausted and he still put Yao on court. this is an ugly win against a lesser team with a 40min Yao, are you kidding me????
The plan right now is to drastically reduce Yao's minutes in the practice. Game time, over time I hope Yao's minutes go down. But it may not be much of a change there.
Man there was no way we needed Yao in the 4th, at least not for the entire quater. We had a comfortable lead
