http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/jack_mccallum/04/14/awards/index.html SECOND TEAM G -- Tracy McGrady, Houston: Offensive-oriented T-Mac still manages to score for defensive-oriented coach JVG THIRD TEAM C -- Yao Ming, Houston: I like what his coach, Jeff Van Gundy, said about his lack of aggressiveness: "A lot of mean guys suck. Yao can play."
FIRST TEAM F -- LeBron James, Cleveland: No explanation necessary. My question: Necessary or not, can you come up with an explanation though?
Yup. He also says.... F -- Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas: Will he ever be a first-teamer considering the comp in the West? I thought this was the ALL-NBA team. Not All Western team. Even if Lebron is taken as a F, I dont see how he picked him over Dirk, given the team record/success. Media is in love with Lebron.
Why is this guy fitting players into his own formula???? Lebron does not play the 3. He plays shooting guard. If he can't make it as a guard, then don't put him on your first team. What a disgrace
have you seen the other picks by this guy? wade, lebron, amare all on the first team along with shaq and nash. ginobili on the second team while iverson and kobe are on the third??? man being an 'insider' it seems requires no thought at all there is no way Duncan cannot be on the first team this year. IMO it should be First Team Amare (F/C) I cant stand the guy but impressive #s and too much media hype Duncan (F) YES NO EXPLAINATION NECESSARY Shaq (C) See Above Nash (G) See Above McGrady (G/F) Mcgrady 2005 #s have been crazy and he has really brought this rocket team around after a horrible start Second Team Garnett (F)- Huge numbers again but no playoffs (at least right now) Dirk- (F) MVP season for him as most of his #s above career averages Yao-(C) Lack of true centers in the league and Yao's continued development lands him here Allen (G)- Shooter helped seattle to one of the impressive stories of the season Iverson (G) Philly would be schooled by the local YMCA team without him Third Team Lewis (F)- All-Star season that can only mark the beginning for a impressive future James (F)- Phenom's team is sliding after jumping out to a huge start Illgauskas/Wallce (C)- Either player will do here, Big Z is a real center while Wallace is playing out of position but puts up crazy defensive stats. Kobe (G) Great stats all around but the lakers maybe looking up to the clippers by the time this season is over Wade- (G) I would prefer Arenas, but media hype and a good sophomore season probably lands him a 3rd team spot
Mine is pretty much the same, but I think Dirk should be in the first team instead of Amare. Dirk is a better all around player than Amare who is basiclly a scoring machine. First Team: F - Duncan F - Dirk C - Shaq G - T-Mac G - Nash Second Team: F - Amare F - The Matrix C - Yao G - AI G - Ray Third Team: F - KG F - Larry Hughes C - Big Ben G - LeBron G - Wade
Here's my pick: First Team: Forwards: Garnett, Tim Duncan Center: Yao Guards: TMac, Nash Second Team: Forwards: Dirk Norwitzky, Shawn Marion Center: Shaq Guards: Kidd, LeBron Third Team: Forwards: Amare, Rashad Lewis Center: Ben Wallace Guards: Kobe, Ray Allen
IMO, Yao should be ahead of Shaq for the simple reason he plays more games. Also, I'm a huge Rockets fan.
Whatever happened to paying dues? After all Duncan has done, this guy (the same guy he didnt put Yao/Tmac as a top duo) moves him off the first team in favor of Amare? Because of a 15 game injury? What a joke. Dirk should be above Amare too. There's a guy who can carry a team without the best PG in the game spoonfeeding him for dunks all night long.
1st Team: Nash McGrady Lebron Amare Shaq 2nd Team: Iverson Allen Garnett Duncan Yao 3rd Team: Wade (kinda low but nowhere else to put him) Arenas Kobe Marion Ben Wallace
