Robert Horry makes his argument for the Hall of Fame

Big-shot Bob Horry joined the show to discuss the NBA finals and more ...

-- Horry said he's trying to get into the Hall of Fame. Horry said that he doesn't think he'll make it, because people emphasize scoring too much.

Horry said that he and Dennis Rodman are both underrated because they did so much for their teams. Horry said that he did a lot for his teams that didn't show up in the box score.

-- Dan asked Horry who he would give the ball for a last-second three-pointer. Horry said he'd take himself first. Then Reggie Miller, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan.

-- Horry said when he's in position to hit a game-winner, nothing went through his mind. He didn't think about it, because then he wouldn't have had a chance to hit the shot.

-- Horry doesn't like when people rip Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard for keeping things too light

A very good compimentary player, but NOT even close to a hall of famer.

A guy who could have been even better if he worked on his game more....

amazing to see how far horry has come, don't think he should be a hall of famer. when i was in high school, the rockets practiced at our gym, this was right before the championships. I was a senior when he was a rookie. I still remember him when he showed up, so skinny.

I still remember getting to see thorpe and sleepy floyd practicing together. other teams would practice there when they came into town. also got to meet barkley and manute bol when they were with the sixers, barkley was very friendly back then. as much as i criticize him, I have to give him props for that.

    Tinman photo montage in 3....2....1....

I love Horry and he was a HUGE reason why we won our 2 championships (playing out of position in the second one, no less), BUT

I don't think you reward a player who goes through the regular season giving minimal effort only to step up once the playoffs start with a spot in the HOF.

If announcers(!!!), coaches, and college players can get in, there's no legitimate reason to keep elite specialists like Horry or Rodman out.

Nope not HOF worthy by any stretch. Winning 6 rings is not going to get him in even with all those big shots he made in his career.

    No Chance

what about winning 7 rings? ;)

That shows you the confidence he has in himself, I believe this goes for all championship players.

There should be some place in the hall for specialist.
I'm glad Horry used Rodman as an example too.

Without Rodman, Detroit doesn't have championships, David Robinson doesn't win his MVP and the sacred MJ/Pippen would only have 3 rings.

Yes I said it. Without Rodman, the late 90s Bulls wouldn't have 3 rings. How do you think MJ/Scottie got all those shots? Rodman was outrebounding Shaq and Malone and Kemp.

100% correct. Look at the 95 Bulls...no Rodman...lose to Orlando (who we swept!) in the playoffs.

Slightly off topic, but this is one of the big reasons I use when saying that i believe that Bill Russell is the best basketball player ever. 11 rings in 13 years = the best of the best in my book.

Bob should get in, not because he won 7 rings, but because of the role he had on those championship teams. Without Bob, we don't win either championship, the Lakers don't make it past Sacramento and Portland, and San Antonio has a much harder row to hoe.

Rodman should have more credit for his basketball skills, but his antics and behavior were always the topic of choice.

Rodman and Horry deserve some recognition. That's 12 championships between them.

horry is a nice sentimental choice and an interesting topic or debate on his HOF candidacy, but it is an absolute travesty and embarrassment that Dennis Rodman wasn't a first-ballot HOF'er. i spoke passionately about this a couple months ago, and don't feel like getting fired up again.

Unless I am mistaken . . . Horry *NEVER* lost in the 1st round
    during his whole career.

In fact . . he went to the second round EVERY YEAR OF HIS CAREER!!!
