Today's headline on CNN.com: "Fathers at war see children 'grow up in pictures'". Just another in CNN's daily dose of demagoguery. Just another daily dose of CNN presenting a one-sided story. Just another daily dose of CNN reporting what they believe will cripple public opinion at home, ensuring a loss abroad. It's been repeated ad nauseum that the only chance the terrorists have of winning is to have the United States people fracture the United States military from the inside. CNN is doing their best to make sure that that happens. Has there ever been a greater ally of an enemy of the United States than this media outlet? For all the complaining that the liberals do about FoxNews, how can anyone argue that they are even EQUAL to the bias of CNN's partisan stance?

What CNN has done in the last few years is grossly irresponsible. It has contributed to the loss of US LIVES abroad. It has weakened morale. It has persuaded the weak minded to just "give up" and want to end the war, despite what we are fighting for. Their daily dose of negativity has been a death by a thousand cuts for our military. Anyone rooting for the United States in the War on Terror should recognize this.

Does anyone think that CNN isn't doing this?

I don't get it. what's wrong with this story. we shouldn't think of soilders on father's day?

the only problem i see is that you, a person comfortable with fighting behind his keyboard, can't accept that war has real consequences on real people

Jorge, you remain true to your idol Dubya. Admirable in a misguided way I suppose. The failure to learn from experience. In your case the Iraq War as it has enfolded in your life is the experience you are failing to learn from so far.

I still stubbornly have not given up on your potential, though I suppose many of my fellow posters are not so sanguine.

I know you were raised in the revisionism that goes sort of like this. "We lost the Vietnam War because of liberals and the media." What happens on the battle field and the determination of the enemy fighting a defensive war on their own soil is irrelevant. Only the propaganda war at home counts.

Look, as I tell Basso, so that he can get it up, sleep at night and feel proud to be an American. Just like it could have in Vietnam, The US can "win" in Iraq. We can nuke them. We can keep them at bay, and perhaps with complete saturation bombing of the conventional type,"win" by killing say another several million of those who oppose us. We could perhaps even have a draft and send an army of two million or more to occupy. We could encourage intermarriage. We can even put in a government that will back the expanison of Israel and vote our way in the UN all the time etc.

In terms of fracturing the US military the way to do it is to give it an unjust, unnecessary and lengthy assignment like your hero Dubya has done.

Perhaps if you had more actual contact with the military you might realize this.

There is something instinctively stupid about people who want a war on an Idealism to continue on. Without moral basis, without legs to stand on, one that rages on dispite its first two reasons being debunked; who are NOT willing to do anything besides play a partisan hack who b****es and moans about every story that comes from the war.

Want to make a positive change TJ. Go see your local recruiter and tell him. "I believe in this war" "I can make a change". Then go get 5 of your best buds and 3 relatives to do the same thing.

Stupid is as stupid does I guess.

What I find disturbing about your post is that you value supporting the gov't in power at any costs over a free press. It's very Orwelian of you to espouse that the press should fall in line with a pro-war agenda and anything else is distasteful. It's what I expect in China, the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, but not in a democracy. The foundation of the media in a democracy is to show all perspectives - it prevents secrets from the people. Basically, you are saying people are sheep, and that you have to control the information the sheep get so they continue to support a war???

I'm happy there's a FoxNews, an NPR, and a CNN. I'm glad their are newscasters willing to push the limits on occasion on both sides - because I don't trust either party.

And I certainly don't trust anyone who wants to cut off information from reaching me or others. Seems like you may have some issues with the constitution my friend.

whenever i watch CNN it's never about the war.

I always see Paris Hilton on it.

I always see missing white chicks on it.

    That is all.

    I miss Rudi.

I have to watch her on on FNC.

Well the story was true, and I don't see any problem with reporting it.

I see this thread as part of TJ's concerted strategy against reality, and having it reported.

He would prefer that we ignore and don't report the truth.

who wants to bet that this was something he heard on michael savage...i mean michael weiner's show the savage...i mean WEINER NATION!

it sounded like one of the former hippies tirades! and yes, michael savage's real name is indeed michael weiner and he is a total lib-pig. he used to hang out at nude beaches w/ allen ginsburg and had an affair with him (allegedly), has a phd in botany, writes books on horticulture and went to berkley. textbook libpig!

and texx, is this really all you have to complain about? im glad you can get so worked up over such things - you are really fighting the good fight. it is obvious that you are doing more for the war on terror here fighting cnn and their fathers day coverage than if you were actually enlisted and over in iraq.

    Trader Jorge,

Please tell me you've either served in or made trip to your local military recruiter.

You just don't get it do you. The War in Iraq had/has nothing to do with the War on Terror.

The War in Iraq is lost and has been for a long time.

    People still watch CNN?

I stopped watching CNN when Lou Dobbs started to sound like a broken polka accordian at a Lawrence Welk Geritol Jamboree.

No where in your incoherent rambling was there anything even close to being considered correct. In fact, everyone on this board is just a little dumber from reading what you've posted. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

our enemies do, and use it as a barometer of public opinion. since their primary weapon, and only hope for success, is flagging public support for the war, cnn's continual efforts to undercut the war effort only serve to embolden those we fight against.

    Exactly.

I guess they want it to be sort of like the foolish looking Iraqi information minister who was on TV reporting glorious battle field victories up until several hours before our troops rolled into Baghdad.

Seems to me that since you've espoused the idea that the terrorists hate our freedom, a better measure would be to see how many Americans support curtailing freedoms and start rejecting the ideals of democracy. So in that sense, it seems to me that you and T_J are some of the terrorists' top allies - far more so than an independent, free media would be.

It could well have come from "savage". I haven't been able to keep tabs on the right wing radio stuff too much lately. But it wouldn't shock me.

If CNN is the only hope of any side, then that side has already lost the war.

above everything else, GWB's continued incompetence has emboldened US's enemies.
