I was watching Dobbs' show and what the hell is up with this guy? Has anyone seen this? This guy must be the worst host I've seen in a while. He had a guest from the Department of Motor Vehicles or something from NY and they were debating about whether giving illegal aliens licenses would be the right move. The guy was stating his case and EVERY single time he talks, about 4 words in Dobbs rudely interrupts him and starts to bash him because he DISAGREES with Dobbs' opinion. I know Dobbs feels very passionately against illegals getting licenses in NY, but damn why even bother inviting a guest to talk about it? He doesn't let the guy talk and THEN says "you've had NINE minutes to state your case and you've exhausted reasoning and patience." Riight. There's a difference between passion and rudeness. The guy never had the opportunity to finish his sentences and so at the end he asks for a small time to finish one point and Dobbs lets him.. but only to cut him off about 3 words in and then ends the show. What a douche. [/rant]
Hate is hate. Dobbs is disgraceful. I knew Dobbs wasn't for me when an ultra-conservative work associate told me he accidentally turned on CNN and said "that Lou Dobbs fella is alright". Then again...I don't pay any attention to those talking heads any more. They are just background noise to me.

He's hateful because he's against illegal immigration? I dont really like the guy, but I wouldnt say he's hateful. He's just gone off the deep end a bit with his anger over the issue.
Gotta be hate or racism if you're against illegal immigration. I love that tired old comeback. I hope Lou keeps up the good work on this issue. If you want to come here, do it legally.
I don't want to turn this thread into a D&D. His opinions are his opinions and hey, that's alright with me. However I sure don't like his style. I don't think he's doing a good job on this issue because he's just being an arrogant and rude prick towards his guests. I agree with him to some point, but he's really making a jerk out of himself.
yeah, how dare he not want ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to have a license! I mean they broke the law fair and square to get into this country...they should be able to drive illegally too! disgusting how people label someone racist because they dont want illegal people in the country. I can see how Dobbs pisses some people off, he has some common sense and that just doesnt jive well with some people.
I think racism is wrong unless you're talking about Native Americans (all 2 of them) and Eskimos.. nobody really knows what they are.

I always thought it was for the opposite effect, they give people a "champion" of their views so to speak. People that agree with Dobbs or O'Reilly tune in to see their interviews and feel secure because somebody agrees with them and tells them what they think is right, while at the same time making people that think differently appear foolish.
Here is a sample of Dobbs: Dobbs is not O'Reilly. He makes cogent arguments without leveraging race. Dobbs dislikes illegal immigration regardless of the color of the immigrant. He has focused on European immigrants, Asian immigrants as well as brown people from the South. He has been consistent with that. How not wanting to give the rights of citizenship to people who entered your country illegally equates to racism is beyond me. He has also been a champion for the American middle class, often taking up the fight against multi-national corporations, who he happens to feel are the real people benefiting from this open borders/amnesty movement. It would be nice if someone could counter Dobbs without playing the race card. Its easy to discredit guys like O'Reilly cause they always manage to say something stupid, racist and/or inflammatory. But you have to counter Dobbs on the merits of his argument. When you do, he will give you credit for it. Just don't sit on his show trying to evade the questions.
You just don't get it do you? If you disagree with the political left, you're a rich, racist, bigot. If you disagree with the political right, you're a terrorist-supporting, libpig. You may now proceed into discussion on American political issues.
How can anyone discredit him when he doesn't allow them to complete sentences in his interviews? The problem with Dobbs isn't necessarily his views (though those are bizarre at times too) - it's that he has no willingness to let anyone with views that disagree with his say anything and tries to make himself look smart by interrupting and then making it seem like the other side has nothing useful to say. There's no benefit for Spitzer or anyone else getting into a debate with him, because unless they act like an idiot, they are going to get shouted down.
