http://www.wwe.com/inside/cenaoncnn/ So CNN does a special about steroids in pro wrestling and, with editing, twists John Cena's words from adamant denial of using steroids to a "wink-wink" non-denial. Nothing like making up a news story.
I dislike wrestling pretty much, but this is ridiculous. John Cena does an interview knowing it's going to be chuck full of tough questions about steroids and Benoit and the like...and this is how they reward him? CNN sucks balls...and have for a while now.
They totally butchered his statements. I knew that CNN and fox do this crap, but it's interesting to actually see it happen.
I agree its pretty low for CNN to creatively edit John Cena's interview but I find it ironic for Pro-Wrestling to be complaining about creating a false impression.
Wow, posting this shows that my irony detector must be completely broken. Still, I'm not sure I know the difference between pro-wrestling and the "hard-hitting" 24-hour news channels anymore.
It's like that episode of the Simpsons "Homer Badman" with the gummy Venus De Milo and the babysitter - where he goes on TV and pleas his innocence but the TV ppl twist it up on him and turn him into public enemy #1.
CNN is worse than Fox News at this point in the way they portray the news. They've been butchering this wrestling / steroids scandal since day one. I'm surprised he even agreed to appear.
This is why I don't believe anything I see on CNN or the nightly newscasts anymore. They just twist things around to fit their predetermined agenda.
i'm not defending CNN and they deserve criticism I just find it ironic that an organization that has built fortunes on creating false impressions to now be so upset that someone else is.
The hilarious thing about it was there was a clock in the background jumping back and forth as they were butchering up Homer's statements.
Ridiculous. Wrestling is an entertainment / sports broadcast. Everything that happens on their shows are entertainment and are scripted realities like any other tv show. Would you make that same quote if some actor / actress had this happen to them and then griped about it?
he said "absolutely not", followed by "i cant say i havent but you cant prove that i have" so which one is it and why is he butchering his answer? he was put on the spot and fidgeted around the question- they chose to air the vague answer at the end of his rambling... so whats the problem? and who is john cena?
That'd be like an actor or novelist being upset that someone else was creating a false impression. It's not a pro wrestler's fault if some idiot in the crowd actually believes that stuff is real. AFAIK, pro wrestling doesn't say everything's unscripted when it obviously is.
