    This is too much...

    Snow Offered McClellen's [sic] Job

White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten "has offered Fox News Channel anchor Tony Snow the job of White House press secretary," the D.C. Examiner reports. "Snow, who was once a speechwriter for former President George H.W. Bush, has not yet decided whether to accept the job. He recently recovered from colon cancer and has been helping launch a radio version of Fox News."

    Fox News confirms the story.

[edit] Isn't that more like an interdepartmental transfer than a job change?

He was probably having a veryhard time looking at himself in the mirror every morning. Anyone with a conscience would if they were in his shoes.

Scott McClellan deserves the medal of freedom for the amount of water he has been made to carry. Bush et al screw the pooch and he gets the body shots. Bush White House Press Secretary must be the worst job in America.

Woah, hold your horses. Just because he's said it doesn't mean it's a fact yet.

Ari Fleischer did the same thing a few years ago when he grew tired of having to play the role of White House spin doctor.

There is no insurgency in Iraq! Major combat operations ended years ago! President Bush has a 98% approval rating in every category!

He already does have him as the Vice President.

Isn't he looking for a job? And what's with the fur on his chest??

I'm amazed that McClellan lasted as long as he has. Anyone think he'll be an asset to his Mom's run for Gov versus Payola Perry, Ring-my-Bell, and the Kinkster? Jury's out.

Snow for a Snow Job? Why the hell not? Fox works for the White House anyway, so the guy is just changing positions... from on his back, to on his hands and knees.

(not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Why don't they just give the job to Brit Hume, he's got about 6 years of experience doing the job already.

    Pretty sad

McClellan taking one for the team --

McClellan, who began working for Bush in the Texas Governor’s office in 1999, was one of the few people left in the West Wing known as "family" — put in his job because he was beloved by the President and because longtime confident Karen Hughes wanted him there. Like Bolten’s predecessor, Andrew H. Card Jr., McClellan did not want to go. Although he had talked to colleagues sporadically about departing as long as a year ago, he had planned to stay until after the midterm election. Friends said he had gotten the internal signal and wanted to get it over with, to short-circuit the craziness of having to refuse to speculate about himself from the podium.
