[CNN] 7.6 Earthquake hit Mexico 115 miles E of Acapulco

    That's bad news. Seems it didn't affect Mexico City too much. Mexico City was founded on the site of (a) lake(s). The old lakebed(s) make the ground there even softer, and the earthquake of 1985 really ripped the place up.

    Since 1985, structures have been built "shake-proof" :eek:, thank goodness, but this was off the coast, closer to the Pacific than Mexico City. Yeah, that place is on shaky ground, no pun intended.

    Evacuate? No. Just drink plenty of tequilla and you won't know or care if the ground is shaking. :grin:

    ^Yes. I heard from a Mexican reporter that she had about 25 guards around the group, and the hotel where she was staying with her fellow classmates was closed so they could be there alone, enjoying it.

    There was another one that just happened, a 4.8 magnitude one. :eek:
