It was brought up in the chat yesterday that we could predict how we all did the upcoming season so that spurred the idea to create a prediction challenge for the upcoming season. What the prediction should consist of is open for discussion, but we should atleast predict all human teams. We also need to decide the scoring. As I have no power to give prospects in this game there will be no reward - just a crowned "I know it all" Champion. (If really wanted I can give the winner a new team in a higher division, but I will not allow for Premiership to be reached this way, but of course that means retiring the winning participant and creating him all over for the new team) I think we should allow for the prediction to come in as late as after 8 games into the season to make it easier. Here is what I suggest we predict. 1. Final League Position for managed teams. Spot on: 5 pts Within 1: 3 pts Within 3: 2 pts Within 5: 1 pts 8 or more off: -2 pts 11 or more off: -4 pts 2. Champions for all 5 divisions, 3pts each 3. Most Goals, Assists, MoMs and best average rating for all 5 divisions, 2 pts each 4. Manager Points. Rank the managers first to last on how they will score in manager points this season. Get the order right: 10 pts Get all but 2: 7 pts 3 wrong: 5 pts 4 wrong: 4 pts 5 wrong: 3 pts 6 wrong: 2 pts 7 wrong: 1 pt How is this? Comments on the suggestion/pts given. Anything else we should predict? Awards? And maybe we should have own question too?
Prediction of the cups can be added: The FA-Cup: Predict the round each team reaches. If you get it right you will be awarded for each round: Round 1: 0.5 pt Round 2, 3: 1 pt Round 4: 1.5 pts Round 5, 6: 2 pts Semis: 2.5 pts Finals: 3 pts Winners: 5 pts The prediction is 9 steps long (1,2,3,4,5,6,SF,F,W). If you miss by 2 steps or more, you will be deducted: 2: 0.5 pt 3: 1 pt 4: 1.5 pts 5: 2 pts 6: 2.5 pts 7: 3 pts 8: 5 pts The same can be done for The League Cup. For Vans Trophy. Just predict the round. Get it right = 1 pt, if not you will get 0 pts no matter how hard you miss it. And btw - We are about to start the season in the chat. Any other suggestions or altercations for the prediction challenge, please offer them here. And maybe we could have a little reward for winning the challenge - job security - if you win it you will get to chose a better team than normally allowed for starting a new team. And those that doesnt want to start in D3 might also participate in the challenge, and be allowed to start in D2. The CM page have been updated with textfiles and also shortlists for Carlisle and Swindon. http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/

We will remove The League Cup section from the prediction thread and allow for prediction to come in a bit later, so you can still get in your prediction, or for those who has done them/started to do them - still have time to dosome fine tuning. We will probably end the prediction when we sim next time.

With 4 rounds remaining of the season I have updated the site again. http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/ But only links on the frontpage can be trusted to be up as I have moved the update to a new server. Updated at the new site is all textfiles. To get hold of your team-textfile just open a standings textfile and edit the name of that txt file to your team textfile name. Example: change division3.txt to plymouth.txt, carlisle.txt, cheltenham.txt or whatever team you want a fresh textfile for. also for the division 3 playoff race - a standings screen can be found in info 3 (in addition to the d3 textfile) and also you can find the remaining 4 rounds fixtures linked from the division3 link. I will see about fixing the rest of the site as we go along.
http://home.trollnet.no/havard/cmleague/txt/txt.html http://home.trollnet.no/havard/cmleague/jpg/jpg.html Two links with seperate links for what is located on my server and not Castor's server - one for textfiles and one for screens.
The season kind of stopped up, but I hope we can get it finished today. I'm planning on being in the chat EARLY, and if you want to make changes to your team you are hereby warned, because the season will be finished today. AND with only 2 rounds remaining of the regular season all managers have something to fight for. Well I guess all but me that has already won D3 After the next round one team will probably not have hope to be in it anymore as the top game in D3 sees #10 Plymouth face #9 Cheltenham. Both probably will have to win to stay on pace with #7 Scunthorpe that plays #22 Halifax. 1. Mansfield -- 92 2. Dag & Red -- 81 3. Swindon -- 73 ---------------------------- 4. Luton -- 73 5. Macclesfield -- 71 6. Brighton -- 70 7. Scunthorpe -- 69 ---------------------------- 8. Burnley -- 68 9. Cheltenham -- 67 10. Plymouth -- 66 Manager of the month for April: D3: Zac D (Cheltenham) D2: DVauthrin (Swansea) D1: not Pued In D2 both Swansea and Carlisle have secured the playoff spots and only fight for position (Carlisle can still get direct promotion but highly unlikely) After another win in D1 Pued (2-0 over Stockport) can still save the season. 20. Cardiff -- 54 21. Stockport -- 52 --------------------------- 22. Lincoln -- 48 so with 6 pts remaining to fight for the fat lady is still prevented from singing. Next match is away vs Crewe, while Lincoln plays Preston at home in the last game. I will be in the chat in about an hour or two.
http://home.trollnet.no/havard/cmleague/txt/txt.html http://home.trollnet.no/havard/cmleague/jpg/jpg.html with the season over - for most - here is an update - mostly for the playoff teams (all 10 info screens is for the playoff teams, 2 each) The 2nd game in round 1 will probably be played in chat late, late today (don't know when I will be back from work) or tomorrow. If you can't be in the chat then, and have changes/instructions post them here.
They have been playing that strange 3-5-2 system of yours where you tell them where to pass. Who knew that all they needed was a little instructions or maybe just being limited in their options
