Well we have finally hit the opening day.

I will need all of you to give your lineups and tactics.

But first you could all check out:

    http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/

Go to the screenshot examples and pick a few screenshot you would want for your team to help you decide your opening day lineup/tactic. You can rank a few and I will figure out how many shots I can give you right now.

I will of course also update the Squad & Stats textfile that is up there for all teams.

I've started uploading team screenshots, and have decided to go with a contract info page and a selection info page for now. If anyone wants other pages as we go along please come with your suggestions.

To explain the two screensets used I first went into contract info and sorted all the players according to their contract status. (Undefined, Key, First Team, Backup, Hot Prospect, Youngster, Not Needed).

The second set of screens are the selection info page. I did not sort that in anyway, so the players will be shown in the same order as for the contract info set.

All pages can be sorted in many different ways, so if you want your page sorted differently later in the season let me know.

Now for the selection of your tactics, starters and 5 bench players.

I can tell how I put up my team based on the screenshots shown.
As a Rudy kind of Manager I feel that it is up to the previous starter to lose their job, so I will go with the 11 players ranked Key or First Team as my starters. Me going with these 11 is extra easy for me as my team had no friendly games scheduled. For you it might be different, you might feel that the poor performance (if any) shown in the preseason games was enough to lose their starting job.

Ok, on to what position to put my players in. I almost always go with a 4-4-2 variant tactic. (Not to say it is best, but that is what I normally chose. I usually get players to suit my system, than change the system to suit the players)

First I put in the guys that play only 1 position. That means:

Steve Farrin as the goalkeeper. (GK)
    Ian Hedges (DR)
    Rob Cousins (DC)
Mark Cooper (MC) (He is AM C, but DM, M and AM are all M positions)
Jason Eaton (FC) (He is a S C, but the attackers in every system is labeled FC)
    Carl Heggs (FC)

That leaves Lee Howey D/S C to play defence as both attacking spots for me are filled. (He is also the only one left of my first 11 that has D C as his position.

With a few more spots to fill I find out that the only one that can play DL is Bryan Small (D/DM L)

I have 3 positions left to fill: ML, MC and MR, and 3 players:
AM RL Tony Daley - will take either ML or MR
M RLC Martin Foster - can play all of the 3
M RC Mark Shaw - will play either MR or MC

My choice was to go with:
    ML Tony Daley
    MC Martin Foster
    MR Mark Shaw

I then need to select 5 bench players (subs) to take in the lineup. With 5 players I usually takes atleast one for each major position (GK, D, M, F). To decide if I should take R, L or C is only a guess, and can be decided with the other 11 players playing. Who do I need cover for? Hard to tell, but you could always hope that your key players can make it through the game. You could also consider what multiple position the 11 starters can play in the case if you need to sub out 1 player you can ask can any of the other out there slide over in that position. That way you can have a sub for the position of the player that can slide over to cover more positions with 1 sub. Of course having a player capabble of playing multiple positions is also good in a sub.

    My selected subs are:

    SB1 Daniel Jell (GK)
    SB2 Kevin Gulliver (DC)
    SB3 Adrian Adams (M RC)
    SB4 Nathan Lightbody (F RC)
    SB5 Alex Meechan (F RC)

That leaves me without cover for DR & DL, but for every other position I have subs or players that can slide over by letting the sub take their position. Hopefully my DR & DL can play good/all game (they are both Key status players), if not I will just have to use a player out of position to play their role. (I could also change the tactic to a system that do not require DR's and DL's, but I'm likely to stay true to my system.

That leaves me with this setup for the first game:

    Tactic: 4-4-2 Attacking
Mentality: Attacking (Was torn between normal or attacking, but as this is my first game and I play at home I aim to please the crowd  )
    Passing: Direct
    Tackling: Hard
    Pressing: Yes
    Offside Trap: No
    Counter Attack: No
    Men Behind Ball: No
    Free Kicks (L & R): Auto
    Corner Kicks (L & R): Auto
    Penalty Takers: Auto

    GK Steve Farrin (GK)
    DR Ian Hedges (D R)
    DC Rob Cousins (DC)
    DC Lee Howey (D/S C)
    DL Bryan Small (D/DM L)
    MR Mark Shaw (M RC)
    MC Martin Foster (M RLC)
    MC Mark Cooper (AM C)
    FC Jason Eaton (S C)
    FC Carl Heggs (S C)
    ML Tony Daley (AM RL)

    SB1 Daniel Jell (GK)
    SB2 Kevin Gulliver (DC)
    SB3 Adrian Adams (M RC)
    SB4 Nathan Lightbody (F RC)
    SB5 Alex Meechan (F RC)

Hope this helps in the selection of your team, if there are any questions about any aspects please come with them. You wonder about the meaning of some of the abbreviations I will tell you. I can start with:

Inj = Injured player (Red can not play, orange could play but should not)
Int = Player away on international duty. Unavailable for the game.
Wnt = Player is wanted by other club(s).
Unh = Player is unhappy. (If you have any of these you could ask me, and I'll tell you why so you could do something about it)
    Fgn = Foreign player
Trn = Player have a transfer arranged for a later date
Fut = Player is wondering about his future for your club. (Need the contract status to be set. Is currently undefinded)

Players name in light blue (cyan) = Player is in your club on loan.
Players name in blue = Player is on loan to another club.

(Loan contracts can be terminated by either party)

    Opening Day Fixtures:

    Morning Fixture (Live Television Coverage):

    Leigh RMI vs Boston Utd

    Evening Fixtures:

    Chester vs Farnborough
    Dag & Red vs Morecambe
    Forest Green vs Southport
    Hayes vs Doncaster
    Margate vs Dover
    Northwich Vics vs Scarborough
    Nuneaton B vs Telford
    Stalybridge vs Hereford
    Stevenage vs Woking
    Yeovil vs Barnet

Please post your opening day lineup/tactics here. If not posted I will go with the lineup in the roster thread (if possible). Games will be played later today in the chat. The first game will be Leigh RMI as it is a morning game, the others can be done in any sequence, so players in the chat go first.

I will no start to get the screenshots for the rest of you so you could plan your lineup/tactics.

You can only have 5 bench players (SB1-5) for each game in the conference. Which 5 would you like to use?

Now the info is uploaded for all the team so we are ready to start the first game of the season. First out is Leigh RMI (haven) that has a morning match vs Boston Utd. When that is simmed we can take whoever is ready in the chat.

I will give haven some time to do his lineup/show up in the chat, so there can still be some time before we are roling, but after havens game we can take whoever is ready in the chat (or elsewhere).

I will start the first game of the league and I'll use haven roster from the other thread if possible.

    Go Leigh RMI.

After the game between Leigh RI`MI and Boston Utd has ended we will do the games of those in the chat first, then the rest. I will come back to check this thread for lineups when the games for the people in the chat are over.

Then I can sim the rest of the games, or maybe wait until later for the rest. Of we go. Season underway. May the best team win!!!

First week games are simmed and all the textfiles have been updated.

Have also changed the 2 screenshots on the frontpage.

    Check it out.

For deciding next games lineup you can use your textfile. Who played, and their ratings will be there.

Finance info uploaded. Some should start consider who they can/want to sell, and what they want for these players.

Also all the teams have a reserve team squad - players can be called up from the reserve team and sent down at will. There is only need for about 18-26 players in the first team squad, the rest can get experience by playing for the reserve team. (You only need 16 to have a full squad for each match but it is always smart to have a few extra in the first team that does not play reserve team football in case of injuries etc so that their condition is not weakend by playing reserve team football the day before the first team plays)

These players are in my first team squad:

    GK Steve Perrin (GK)*
    DR Ian Hedges (D R)#
    DL Bryan Small (D/DM L)#
    DC Lee Howey (D/S C)
    DC Rob Cousins (D C)
    MC Martin Foster (M RLC)
    MR Mark Shaw (M RC)*
    MC Mark Cooper (AM C)
    FC Carl Heggs (S C)
    FC Jason Eaton (S C)*
    ML Tony Daley (AM RL)#

    SB1 Daniel Jell (GK)*
    SB2 Kevin Gulliver (D C)*
    SB3 Simon Futcher (M L)
    SB4 Nathan Lightbody (F RC)
    SB5 Alex Meechan (F RC)
    ---- Simon Travis (D/M R)
    ---- Gary Adams (M RL)*

All the rest will be moved down to the reserve team squad if not there all ready.

    * = Players not for sale (Low value, Low contract)
    # = Valuable players. Standard offers rejected as unacceptable. Higher offers are negotiated had even higher to get the price up. Do not consider selling them for a while

All the rest of the players is negotiated to get a better price (if offer meet value) Player most consider moved is Carl Heggs (not as valuable as his high wage)

As I have no old players in the reserve squad, most of them are under evaluation and not for sale. In addition all my reserve players have low wages. Only player in negotiation mode is James Impey (24).

You could all use your contract and selection (and finance) screenshots to put up info like this. I have no players I need to dump (sold on sight), and after my board injected 230K last month the financial position is not as pressing for me to sell yet.

If you want me to compare two players for you like boville asked I will do so.

Boville: I compared your young players with the players currently playing their "spots" and none of them were better than the players playing currently. Closest was Bryan Cox.

I should also mention that Morecambe's Andy Wright got injured in the last game and will be out for about 3 weeks.

Doncaster's Dean Barrick also was injured, and will be out for about 10 days.

Wigan is offering 28K for Doncasters Darren Fell. Fell is valued at 16K. Time to start negotiating SF3 (to get the price even higher)? You have a big squad and a high wage load to pay, so you should start to consider moving someone away. Not that that person has to be Fell, but if you negotiate a price upward, you never know what they end up paying in the end. And when if the price only get good enough everybody should be for sale in the conference.

btw, scouts searchs are ending up, and all of them have a list of players that were not rated excellent (*****) or good (****)

If you tell me what you want me to do with these players I could perhaps show you a cople of the players ranked ***. There is probably a lot of them so I want sign everybody. Tell me what (or a couple) position(s) you are in most need of and I will try to see if I cant make a screenshot for you all.

After the searches has ended completly we will open for more staff options.

And another sale went down as Doncaster got rid of talented attacker David Fell for 50K +25% for next transfer and 10K extra when Fell have played 10 games for his new club.

Stalybridge manager Zac D has also started negotiating for his backup goalie Fish, who have had a lot of interest. Not wanting to sell, can drive the price through the roof if the interested teams really, really want the player. This 2K valued player got an offer of 30K (after Zac changed his asking price to stop the senseless bidding). With 30K not being enough, Zac now was demanding 60K. So there is hope of turning the econimy over even for low valued players if the interest is only big enough.

I had problems uploading the screenshots I wanted today so I guess we will just have to continue with the textfiles.

I did however upload some examples/info here, so you can start figuring out if you want to try and sign another scout, and how you would like me to show the findings of the current search.

    http://home.no.net/midgaard/cmleague/index2.html

Check it out and post your desires here. Also post any changes to your team. I'm about to sim week 4, and later I will also do week 5.

ok, my bad, please attempt to purchase the following players

    Alan Mcdermott(irish)
Darren Wrignt (scottish) plays for hill of breath
    rob kelly

for wright you will likely have to offer 20K to his team to get him or more

im ok with that, start with 20K, and work it up to 25K, than 30K and more if his team is presistant

    thanks
