http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/ Post stuff in this thread. Preseason has begun - most arranged some friendlies in chat yesterday. If you want some friendlies it is not to late to arrange some (more). Ingoing challenges for friendlies for computer teams have been accepted for all so far, so Luton and Plymouth also got 3 friendlies scheduled already. Just check the textfiles to see if you have some friendlies. The first week of friendlies were also played in chat yesterday (13.7 - 17.7), so we're now at Sunday 18th of July. First possible date at the moment for a friendly in 7 days as the game can only set up friendlies minimum 1 week before the event. Season starts 14.8.04 so there should still be room for some friendlies. Today I made "ratings" for my team: http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/playcomp.htm I used the computer comparison to make these ratings and compared to a default rating of 5 for all players for each element of the "ratings". So if a player came out as 5 better than the default a max rating of 10 was awarded. 5 worse didnt show up on the chart. I will allow for all to ask for a comparison against default players for their own team to get a similar rating for your team. I dont think I will make a page for each team, but will answer with the rankings in this thread, please ask for only 3-5 players each time. Also I would have to know what player you do the compare against for each element of the ratings. You can: 1. Set these players yourself (dont chose your best player as it will limit the default rating of 5 to be the max) 2. Have me chose the player to compare against 3. Compare vs the default Mansfield players Remember though that the computer compare only compare visible attributes and will only give you a general idea about the player. The hidden traits and attributes can alter what the real output of the player is on the field so it is still a good idea to go with the average match ratings to select your team. Also - if anyone would want to change the # for the players before the season - state it in this thread before the deadline for delivering them (sometime before the season, don't remember when). If nothing is stated I will go with auto numbering of the players (will generally give the same numbers as last season). And finally - Castor: Celtic and WBA rejected the friendly games. You can set new in chat or give me the info here. 1. Date 2. Venue (Home/Away) 3. Team
Try Ipswitch for any date available and make it home. Try Celtic again and see if they will play me at there place. CK
Done - Ipswitch accepted and Celtic rejected. Also for all - You can also ask for coach reports on your players here. Limit to 3-5 each time.
First a report on your coaches - their ability on judging players could be better. Cunningham, Assistant Manager -- Judging Ability: 9 of 20 -- Judging Potential: 7 of 20 Barr, Coach -- Judging Ability: 10 of 20 -- Judging Potential: 10 of 20 McFarland, Coach -- Judging Ability: 12 of 20 -- Judging Potential: 13 of 20 As McFarland had the highest numbers I will give you his opinion about the 3 players mentioned: Ian McFarland reckons Andrew Marriott is a useful member of our squad. Ian McFarland reckons Rob Bowman is a useful member of our squad. Ian McFarland reckons James Hunt is a useful member of our squad. I dont know if I would put all my trust in McFarland's opinion, but he's the best you had I reckon and the others actually said the same thing about the players with one exception. Your Assistant Manager Jon Cunningham was concerned that James Hunt had been part of this club for a reasonable period and is not progressing at an acceptable rate. He believes that Hunt should be placed on the transfer list. It is up to you who you trust, but one idea would maybe be to find someone else to trust, as you are a D1 team you should have plenty of better coaches dying to join your staff.
that was one of my plans. I will try to be on tonite to get that done. Any news on my other signing attempts? CK
August 1st Some financial numbers: Balance Swindon -- £290.766 Carlisle -- £7.511.299 Swansea -- £2.389.713 Luton -- £3.840.536 Mansfield -- £4.804.588 Scunthorpe -- £1.240.543 Plymouth -- £1.206.340 Lincoln -- £793.612 Cheltenham -- £1.483.946 Transfer Funds Swindon -- £30.000 Carlisle -- £8.250.000 Swansea -- £2.100.000 Luton -- £1.700.000 Mansfield -- £1.400.000 Scunthorpe -- £1.000.000 Plymouth -- £325.000 Lincoln -- £375.000 Cheltenham -- £1.400.000 Profit/(Loss), Year Swindon -- £852.167 Carlisle -- £4.454.714 Swansea -- £3.358.442 Luton -- £2.942.199 Mansfield -- £2.668.934 Scunthorpe -- £1.006.803 Plymouth -- £1.048.310* Lincoln -- (£337.652) Cheltenham -- £1.400.000 Profit/(Loss), Last Month Swindon -- (£195.705) Carlisle -- (£1.322.523) Swansea -- (£113.891) Luton -- £12.521 Mansfield -- (£60.164) Scunthorpe -- (£101.689) Plymouth -- (£119.479) Lincoln -- (£1.337.874) Cheltenham -- (£1.858.497) *) Including the sale of Romain Larrieu for this month. Bad financial situation or not? Remember that the yearly profit/loss number is including TV revenues and season tickets so the numbers may seem better than they really are. If you want to know how your finances could be at the end of the year you should remove transfers (can be found in your textfiles) from the last month result and try to stipulate going for 10 more months. Of course then new TV revenues and season tickets will come in again to fix matters. The results for this month is also not perfect to go by, as the season hasnt started yet so no regular attendance income has come in last month, but it should probably give you an idea. TV Revenues are: Division 1: £4.100.000 Division 2: £2.500.000 Division 3: £1.000.000
http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/ First round complete, textfiles updated. Castor: As you have gotten your new coaches I thought I should test what they had to say about the players you wanted reports for. They agreed with that Marriott and Bowman were useful players. About Hunt, the player which had differing opinions so far - there new assistant manager Tony Kelly (17/18) said he was useful, while new coach Steve Conner (16/16) said he believes Hunt is playing an important role for the club. Btw - if anyone has anyone they would like a report on, a comparison, contract negotiations (remember contracts ending in 05 needs to be renegotiated this season, rather sooner than later if you would like to be sure you can keep the player for another stint), transfer offers, etc. Also if you give me a list of 3-5 players to do, then after they are done you can list new players at your leisure. Injury report, first teams: (21.8.04) Swindon -- Murray about 10 days, Davis about 2 months Carlisle -- Matthews about 2 weeks, Rogers about 3 months Swansea -- Amoros about 3 months Luton -- Tann about 2 weeks, (Porter suspended 2 matches) Mansfield -- Bradley about 2 months, Jones about 3 months Scunthorpe -- Irvine about a month Plymouth -- Brown a few days, Meca about 2 weeks Lincoln -- Mayo out for one day Cheltenham -- None
Ready to start up new rounds on the chat: 2 -> Some teams also had their selected match screen for game 1 updated (Manny + those not in chat playing yesterday)
http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/ Textfiles updated through round 6. Might do rounds later (LATE) today after work.
If you don't see me in chat you could try and specify your search in here. Just check the site for what attributes you want in each position. You could of course also give some other general filters - like: Nationality: Any, ENG, Other (can specify region or EU here too) Value Range: Any, Free, 0-100, 0-250, 0-500, 0-1000, etc Age: Any, 0-21, 19-25, 20-30, 25-32, 30+ Language: Any, ENG Based: Any, ENG, Abroad, Other (can specify region or EU here too) Status: Any, Listed, For Loan Contract: Any, Expired, Expiring, Unprotected Interested: Yes (I will turn this on most times anyway) And of course - position and side like you stated above (DC, ML) When stating what attributes you want in the filter just add a general level and then I can fine tune them so the numbers of players found can be reportable - also you could rank the importance of the attributes you want. Do not give to many attributes as this will limit severly the numbers of players found, in some cases down to none. If you want a number of attributes and you can still name them all, but state that only a certain number of them need to be filled. Also - all relevant info about attributes can still be found at the site in the attributes link at the front page. And also - Castor - the 400k bid for Ejiofor (sp) was not accepted, but they negotiated to want 525k. I renegotiated it, and offered 400k + 100k for 30 games just to buy time. (Will accept it for you if they do without you responding) If they don't go for that - would you then go for 525k, or just be happy with the signing you got?
http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/ Textfiles updated for round 9 - awards and attendances updated too.
Offer 400k and 125 after 15 apps and see if they take that. If 15 is not an option on ap #'s then make it 10. CK
http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ccnet/cmleague/ Updated textfiles, selection screens AND reserve team stats. also added link for team records, but all not done yet. Other info: Players with tackles pr game 3.0+ Swindon Bubb -- 5.1 O'Connor -- 4.1 Heywood -- 3.7 Heald -- 3.4 Carlisle Johnson -- 4.0 Matthews -- 3.2 Bowman -- 3.1 Rogers -- 3.0 Swansea Stepanovs -- 4.6 Todd -- 3.2 Luton Hunt -- 5.6 Mansfield Walker -- 3.0 Scunthorpe Jackson -- 3.5 Plymouth Laker -- 3.5 Goodhind -- 3.3 Lincoln McElholm -- 5.6 Barnett -- 3.6 Cheltenham Kleine -- 4.3 Hansson -- 3.0 Players with dribbles pr game 1.0+ Swindon none Carlisle Todorov -- 3.2 Jensen -- 1.1 Swansea Empere -- 1.3 Moore -- 1.2 Mazzina -- 1.0 Luton Featherstone -- 1.1 Mansfield Cole -- 1.5 Scunthorpe Arkle -- 1.9 Irvine -- 1.6 Plymouth Meca -- 1.5 Lincoln Rubio -- 1.4 Gain -- 1.1 Cheltenham Moraitis -- 1.9 Also those of you that havent done any contracts lately in chat should probably ask me whenever you see me if you have anyone. Unhappy with their contract I mean - all can see if when players contracts expire - if you want to offer a new contract to a player with an expiring contract, or anybody for that matter - just state it here or in chat.
Do I have any unhappy? I do not have any expiring real soon. I will take car eof some close ones in chat. ALso did the 2 offers for Ejiofor and the Danish guy fall thru? CK
Heath: How can Irvine have any dribbles if he has been hurt all this time? Does this mean that he is finally better now?
Also the prediction challenge for this season will start up now. It will come with a reward, so please join: 1. Champions (Winners for all 5 divisions, 3 pts each) Premier: First Division: Second Division: Third Division: Conference: This part is due by December 1st (gametime) 2. Team Positions (All managed teams) Carlisle: Lincoln: Swansea: Hull: Cheltenham: Mansfield: Luton: Plymouth: Swindon: Scunthorpe: Pointscale: 5 pts - for calling the positon 3.5 pts - being 1 off 2.5 pts - being 2 off 2 pts - being 3 off 1.5 pts - being 4 off 1 pt - being 5 off 0 pts - being 6-7 off -1 pt - being 8-9 off -2 pts - being 10-12 off 0 pts - for unlucky 13 -5 pts - being 14+ off - what the hell were you thinking? This part is due by December 15th (gametime) 3. Player accomplishments (All 5 divisions: Goals, Assists, Av R, MoM; 2 pts each) This part is due by January 1st (gametime) 4. Playoff winners, 2.5 pts each* First Division: Second Division: Third Division: This part is due by the trading deadline* (late march, gametime) *) Alt. deadline/scoring: You can opt to give your prediction for playoff winners when the season is over, just before the playoffs begin. If you want to go this route you will be awarded 1pt for getting it right. You can also combine alternatives, but your choice must be decided before trading deadline. If you want to take the alternative route just put Alt. in your prediction for the divisions you want. 5. Fans Player of the year (Managed teams, 0.5 pt each) This part will be due anytime before the decisions are made, and as this part can be what decides the outcome of the challenge this part will be made secret - you will be given the option to IM me, mail me or tell me in chat when the time comes. If needed we can also bring in neutral witnesses to hold my predictions (and others). NOW for the REWARD!! 1. As talked about in chat manangers that surely know their stuff will rise in reputation. The current manager reputation of the winner will be increased by 750-1500 pts depending on your previous reputation. (Managers below 3500 will get 1500, managers over 5000 will get 750. For those in between they will use from the 1500 base to get to 5000, and will be rewarded half of the remaining points for the rest.) These points will be added to the score based on what you have after this season, not what you have now. 2. You will also be awarded job security (pretty much what you get in #1 above, but if that isnt enough to land you a new job, should you get sacked, I will alter it so that you do). Also if you want to restart (dont see why) you will be allowed to get a D2 team for winning the contest. No more starting over in D3. 3. This is for all: All that participates in the prediction will get to increase one of their players based on their score in the prediction challenge. (This increase will not make a superstar out of someone out of the blue, but there should be some improvement to this player) Also - if you think you would want to edit your prediction - remeber that the different parts have different deadlines, so it would probably be better to post 1 post for each segment. Any comments? If the challenge/reward will suck the way I outlined it - then it is not to late to change it.
