I think we can do this as the baseball league. One post per GM, and edit changes in bold/color.

First set your team instructions/tactics. Here are the options, default options highlighted:

Mentality: Normal / Defensive / Attacking
Passing: Mixed / Short / Direct / Long
Tackling: Normal / Easy / Hard
    Pressing: No / Yes
    Offside Trap: No / Yes
    Counter Attack: No / Yes
Men Behind Ball: No / Yes

If you will like to keep the options handy in your post, then list them all and highlight your options, when you make a change also put color.

Disregard what I said about default options, every team have different options in the start so just chose what option you want to use

You can also set players as first (and second) option to take:
    Free Kicks (L):
    Free Kicks (R):
    Corners (L):
    Corners (R):
    Playmaker:

    Penalty takers:

If you do not set anything for these options the game will chose players automatic. For Penalty takers you can have as long list as you like.

    Tactics:
    4-4-2
    4-4-2 Defensive
    4-4-2 Attacking
    4-4-2 Diamond
    3-4-3
    3-5-2
    3-5-2 Defensive
    3-5-2 Attacking
    4-1-2-1-2
    4-2-4
    4-3-3
    4-5-1
    5-3-2
    5-3-2 Defensive
    5-3-2 Attacking
    Sweeper
    4132

The numbers represent number of players in defense-midfield-attack. The 4-1-2-1-2 have one player playing between defense and midfield (DM) and one player between midfield and attack (AM). Sweeper is similar to 5-3-2 / 3-5-2, difference is that one (SW) of your 3 center defenders plays behind the 2 others (DC). 4132 has one player between defense and 3 central midfielders.

When you have chosen your tactic put players into their positions. To help you know what positions you have for each tactic the rule of thumb is that 4 or more players in one area has players that play the sides. So with 4 or 5 defenders the system needs players in DR and DL. 4 or 5 midfielders needs MR and ML. systems with 3 in defense or midfield only use central players. DC/MC.

Players between defense and midfield are known as DM C (here you can use defenders or midfielders if you like). Players between midfield and attack are AM. Here you can use midfielders (MC, AM C) or forwards (FC).

In attack you use your forwards (FC) and and Strikers (S C). Players can perform well out of their position too, using a left/right player central or the other way around might not be a big step back from their primary position. Players usually are very versitale in real life - strikers/forwards often played (attacking)midfielders on either side or central.

Fill in players for your starting 11 positions, and add 3/5 subs. Games in the conference only allows 3 subs (atleast I think so), but there will be games that allow 5 players on the bench so list a SB4 and SB5 too.

Example of a lineup in the default 4-4-2 with my team (Forest Green):

    GK: Steve Perrin (GK)
    DL: Bryan Small (D/DM L)
    DR: Ian Hedges (D R)
    DC: Rob Cousins (D C)
    DC: Lee Howey (D/S C)
    ML: Tony Daley (AM RL)
    MR: Mark Shaw (M RC)
    MC: Martin Foster (M RLC)
    MC: Mark Cooper (AM C)
    FC: Jason Eaton (S C)
    FC: Carl Heggs (S C)

    SB1: Simon Travis (D/M R)
    SB2: Simon Futcher (M L)
    SB3: Alex Meechan (F RC)

    SB4: Daniel Jell (GK)
    SB5: Kevin Gulliver (D C)

For the moment I will sub for you during games, but we might establish sub guidelines for me to sub later. I posted my players position so you could see how I used my players/subs.

I think we will have to use the scout(s) to find players, because I have no chance to put up all the players available. I think I will creat a link for every conference team so we can check the players of our opponents. I might also add division 3 teams, as they might have some players that could be willing to take a step down to get some playing time. I will give scout options later. For the time being I can set them to look for prospects for all teams.

Info I will have to give you later: All players have contracts, and they have also been told their role when they signed this contract.

    There are 5 levels:
Key : The player is indispensable to the club (player expect to play a vital part, play every game)
First team: Player are a vital part of your first team, and does not expect to be benched for most of the time.
Backup: Players are told they are backups. They will be happy with covering for injuries and starting a couple of games.
Prospect: Players are told they are a hot prospect for the future.
    Youngster: Young player

You also might have a few players that have a undefined role. They will ask you to define it later. We'll get back to all this later. At first I will probably only list all the players considered Key Players.

You can also talk to the players and change their role. Every player will be happy for a bigger role, but the other way around might not be the best a player get to hear. But it might be better to tell a first team player that he should consider himself as a backup now, than just let him rot on the bench and become unhappy.

Contracts might have clauses. If you can't meet these standards, the player can be bought out by another team for the value stipulated in the clause. I will later list your players with contract clauses, atleast those with Non Promotion Clauses. Players with NP clauses do demand that you win the league so you get promoted to honor their contract. If you do not, another team can buy them form you for the amount stipulated in the contract, and you will have to agree. For the players with NP clauses you should consider selling them during the season if you get an offer that is higher than their clause value. Other clauses are Relegation clause and Manager clause. Their might also be other clauses, but we'll get back to them later. I f you are in danger of being relegated I will also list your players with Rel clause.

    Key players per team
Added all players with first team status so all know what players expect to play.
Have also added contract clauses for these players.

BTW: I will not start take request to change their status (unless the player asks for it) until the season begin. This way all can see the status the players had before changing them.

NP = Non Promotion Release Clause
    Rlg = Relegation Release Clause
    Man = Manager/(Job) Release Clause

    Mixed passing
    normal tackles
    press
    No
    No
    No

    4-4-2 attacking
and put Andy Wright (i think its him any way. put the guy valued at 70K with the 20 flair) as the playmaker

    GK Mawson
    DL hodgson
    DR brown
    DC hardiker
    DC murphy
    ML perkins
    MR gardiner
    MC bowe
    MC hall

and set hall as captain, also set him as (second highest level of importance to team)

my goal keeper i belive also wants a new contract. give it to him as well as the same status as hall. (Actually i think he tell you what he wants, and give him the status he wants, but lower the salery demanded by one notch

finaly.. please move porter up to the 1st team from the reserves
