Well I got the full game on friday, and it had some options that would be cool to have as a part of our league.

The demo had almost all of them, but one it didnt have and it was to play in attribute masking mode, where only the statistics and players a manager would realisticly know about are shown.

If we would want to use that option - we would have to start over.

Other reasons for starting over is that I discovered that we probably went into this league to fast without taking the time to do contracts for the players that fall out of contract after season 1 - you also have the implimentation of a new transfer system during the season that might want managers to sign their players to new contracts before the new system arrived (september 1st). As a consequence managers will risk to lose their better players after the season ends, without being compensated as much as they should.

Then you have the fact that in this version it was much harder, almost impossible to get new staff members/scouts for your club for conference teams - I guess this is a little better in the full version with a larger database, but problem is it wont affect the game we already started.

    So the question is:

Should we start the league all over?

If we vote to start all over - should we finish the season we have as a test season. (We are halfway through it)

As the conference was probably not the best division to do a sim based on the problems with staff members for all the teams, where should we start? Haven suggested Div 3 in the chat (1 level up) and I think that is a good idea. I'm also partial to starting in division 2 as you then will have a real division to relegate to. (You could relegate from Div 3 to the conference - but only one team take the step down - from Div 2 to Div 3 4 teams go down.) We could of course also start in other leagues, but I prefer The English league as it is the most developed for the game with all 4 divisions, the conference and other non league teams. I also really do not want to start at the highest level in any league, as the difference from the top clubs to the bottom clubs could be much larger.

    Suggestions?

Just to add to the problems - loading the demo save game in the full version keeps giving me error messages - or rather error codes.

The game will load, and we can play, but I do not know what all these error codes means and what effect they have.

Division 3 sounds like a good idea, since only one team gets relegated. If we go there, I'd like to be Cheltenham or Swansea. If we go to D2, I'd take Wigan (at least I think they're division 2 =) ).

Why cant we be teams like Manchester United.

I want to be Newcastle so I can have Alan Schearer, my all time favorite soccer player.

but ill take whatever is left over.

Well if no-one has any other ideas I guess we can start in Div 3.

    The teams:

    Bristol Rovers - 12/4 - Gd - 29/23.76 - 22K - 200K
    Carlisle - 16/8 - Ad - 32/22.56 - 14.5K - 130K
    Cheltenham - 8/3 - Gd - 33/24.91 - 14.25K - 110K
    Darlington - 9/5 - Ad - 28/24.93 - 36K - 200K
    Exeter - 9/4 - Ad - 30/25.33 - 16.25K - 700K
    Halifax - 13/6 - Ad - 25/25.16 - 16.5K - 675K
    Hartlepool - 7/2 - Ad - 29/22.51 - 16K - 250K
    Hull - 15/6 - Ad - 39/22.10 - 36.5K - 300K
    Kidderminster - 6/1 - Ad - 25/24.00 - 13K - 170K
    Leyton Orient - 13/6 - Gd - 37/22.19 - 19K - 325K
    Lincoln - 10/10 - Gd - 36/22.33 - 17K - 220K
    Luton - 9/9 - NSI - 44/21.61 - 40.5K - 325K
    Macclesfield - 6/2 - NSI - 27/24.00 - 13K - 170K
    Mansfield - 10/10 - Awf - 27/22.41 - 11.25K - 325K
    Oxford - 12/12 - Ad - 39/22.49 - 26.5K - 160K
    Plymouth - 9/6 - Gd - 38/20.00 - 15K - 240K
    Rochdale - 10/8 - NSI - 25/25.48 - 12.25K -240K
    Rushden - 6/4 - Gd - 31/23.39 - 31.5 - 180K
    Scunthorpe - 9/7 - Gd - 27/24.59 - 15.75K - 200K
    Shrewsbury - 8/1 - Ad 38/21.47 - 13K - 220K
    Southend - 12/12 - NSI - 28/22.49 - 14K - 120K
    Swansea - 10/4 - Gd - 29/23.79 - 26.5K - 160K
    Torquay - 6/3 - NSI - 44/21.34 - 24.5K - 350K
    York - 9/3 - Gd - 30/22.87 - 19.5K - 450K

    Info explained:

    Bristol Rovers - 12/4 - Gd - 29/23.76 - 22K - 200K

    Bristol Rovers = Team
12/4 = Rough Capacity of the Stadium, 2nd number is seat - numbers in thousands
Gd = Good training facilities (Ad=Adequate, NSI=Need some investments, Awf=Awful)
    29/23.76 = Numbers of players/Average age
22K = Total wage per week for current players (This is not what you can spend, it is what you currently are spending per week, the bigger the number the harder hit on your fragile economy)
200K - Value of the current highest valued player.

I will take Mansfield if we do Div 3. I'm not giving out board expectations this time, but Mansfield expects me to get a respectable position with the awful training facilities they have)

Economy - Only Southend reported to have unsecure economy, so do not select Southend as your hands will be tied for a long peried when finances are concerned. (Not that I can go on a spending spree with Mansfield, they were also in the red and I expect to have to come around 200K over before they let me spend anything)

And while I typed up the info someone had other Ideas :)

We could if that is what you all prefer, but I see a problem with it as some teams will have big advantages, and being a supporter I will pick Manchester United and have the biggest advantage of all.

I guess the best league to start at the top level might be MLS but you still will not get Alan Shearer to come play in the States. :p

But voice the opinions, I'm open to anything, but in the chat there has been stated that Div 3 would be good - I even left open to go to Div 2 as a listed option, but still people jumped in on Div 3 teams.

Btw when we start over I will try to find a way to list attributes for the players so you can easier select your tactics. I put up information of the tactics/team information on the current site yesterday (typed up parts from the game manual) and it refers to attributes a lot, so I will see how I can get those listed for the players.

Don't pay that much attention to the highest valued player - as for Exeter it proved to be a player on a loan contract, and the highest owned player was at only 16K - Exeter is the team that suck the most, and is destined to be relegated.

Also we voted in the chat that the only club with secure finances is not available - so no Rushden for the simmers.
