Did anyone catch The Glide having his number retired in Portland a few minutes ago? I know we loved him most as a Rocket and as a Cougar, but he set the standard as a Blazer. He is the ultimate in humility, grace, and sportsmanship. I had the chance to meet him a few times over the years, and he was always a true class person. I sure do miss him. The only damper to this happening is the fact that Kevin Johnson (KJ) is having his number retired tomorrow night, and that he was nothing but a whiney-assed crybaby punk. That dunk on Dream in '94 was a lucky throwdown! Remember who won the series? Go Rocks!

I saw that ceremony, and I thought it was great. I loved how they renamed a street, "Drexler Drive". I only wish I could have seen the Rockets retire his jersey.

    Nice going, Clyde! Certainly deserving..

Speaking of deserving...When Chucky Brown retires, I wonder if every team he has played for will retire his number(s?)...That would be cool...Then you could go to nearly any arena in the league and see Chucky's number hanging proudly from the rafters...With his number everywhere, he'd be kinda like the McDonald's of the NBA.
