05/15-DREXLER IN PORTLAND- In speaking with media, former Blazer great Clyde Drexler said he had a meeting with Blazers owner Paul Allen, and the two have reached an agreement that will bring Drexler back into the Blazers organization. Drexler would not rule out coaching, but said he felt like it was going to be more front office related. Reports speculate that Drexler could become a part owner of the team, and may be in line to be the Blazers next assistant GM. The current Assistant GM is rumored to be under consideration by the Nuggets to be their new GM, although under contract such a move does not seem unlikely. The amusing part of that move is the rather combustible relationship Drexler and current Blazer GM Bob Whitsitt have. If such a move is done, there is a very good chance Paul Allen could be setting up a viable replacement for Whitsitt should he be unable to improve the team. Its been said this will be Whitsitt's last chance in Portland. Drexler said the specifics of he role with team have not been determined, but that he was agreeable to coming back to the Blazers and he simply was waiting for them to determine how best to use him.
