Here's a great TrueHoop article from Kevin Arnovitz at ESPN.com about what will become of NBA websites during the lockout. Check out the specific example he uses: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/30755/back-to-the-internet-stone-ages-for-the-nba Looks like anyone looking for their Houston Rockets fix during the lockout will HAVE to come to CF.net instead of Rockets.com. Sorry, Jason Friedman.
Time for this site to start producing more contents. Go interview Kevin Martin and Kyle Lowry or something. Rockets.com can't have any contact with them, but clutchfans.net (and rafer.clutchfans.net) sure can. Clutch, get'er done!
Yep, it's time for payback after that whole "clutchcity.com" mess. (Ahhhhh. I remember the old days of clutchcity.com. It was a simpler time then.)
Wow, that would be sweet if we could get interviews and workout videos on here during the lockout. People are going to be starving for Rockets news. Would vault Clutchfans to another level.
Just curious. Can players and some officials of teams "talk" through a fan site like this? Say for example, Jason Friedman being a member here, posts stuff and players join the board and post in the same threads.
No. The NBA has already come out with a strict policy for social media, including Twitter, where if a team employee mentions or tweets at a player, it's an immediate ONE MILLION DOLLAR FINE! I don't think the player's union has any sort of rule/penalty against players talking to basketball websites unaffiliated with the NBA. Agreed that Clutch needs to get it in gear and collect some interviews and footage!
Well, then. Instead of tweeting about players, Daryl Morey will just have to return to tweeting pictures of his penis.
Either that or say he is at a concert with his wife at Toyota Center to see Rihanna or Britney Spears, or Sade or Vicente Fernandez.
Yeah, but what is really there to talk about basketball wise? I mean sure we can find out where players are practicing, but is that really germaine to the team getting better if they are not working out with the coaching staff? I hope the strike ends sooner than later, and am glad that the site might get a few more hits.....but I really want to have a training camp and preseason.....our team is very young. DD
This is the perfect chance for Clutchfans to become affiliated with the official Rockets.com website?
Why the hell would we want to be affiliated? The best part of this site is that it's unbiased, independent coverage. The second we're affiliated is when our content has to get the corporate go-ahead before it's posted.
If Rockets.com loses Jason Friedman because of this, I'm going to be an even more pissed off Rockets fan.
All I inferred from that article is that there aren't enough articles on clutch the bear here.. Why is that?...
Affiliate? No! Exterminate! <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Or-epXMvTM8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
