We are talking 20 point losses, not getting back on d or playing d, horrible shooting, hero ball and looking completely clueless out on the court. Yes they can get better but right now we are just calling what we see.

    McHale:

Just not there yet. We're not moving. We're a one effort team. ... We're not at that place yet. Our offense is really stagnant. Made too many mistakes defensively again. We're not making plays for each other at the rate we have to make them. I'm talking running the lane, hard cutting hard, getting off the ball, just basic stuff we're not doing well. That has to change. If it doesn't, we won't have success. Drive, make the pass early, next guy drive, cut, set good screens, simple things. I wish I could tell you it's something complicated but it's not. It's the same offense that was able to generate a lot of good shots the last couple years. The movement is not there.

It's not because a new PG. It's not Ty's fault. He has to get better like everyone but we're slow right now. We're coming off things slow. We're pushing the ball up slowly, running into screens slow, rolling slow, we're just slow.

Mindset and intensity and guys wanting to do it?

You gotta want to do it. We got spanked by 20 two games in a row. I don't know. I'd assume you get tired of that. We better start bringing more multiple efforts on every possession. Right now, we're not generating anything easy for each other. We have to finish better at some point. We've never been good at finishing around the basket since I've been here. 21-47 at the rim today, not very good. We have to finish. All that goes into how hard and how prepared you are going in there. We're taking tough shots. We've missed easy shots. ... Our spacing is not very good. Bigs have to get better. We're jammed up. We're not free flowing and rolling. Our offense functions better when the ball is popping and guys are moving and cutting.

    Why is James so uncomfortable?

I don't know. We're running roughly the same stuff as last year when he dang near led the league in scoring. No, I don't know. He's not comfortable...who is comfortable? No one is comfortable. We're funky. We are not in tune as a group. We're funky. We haven't played well. We've had better practices. We had bad practices. We had practices where 3-4 players of our main 9 practicing. We have no rhythm. In the west, better not take too long to catch rhythm.

    Worried about leadership or focus?

Ask them that. Our guys need to be locked in and ready to go. We're playing bad basketball. The entire preseason I don't think you heard me say "We're playing well!", practice or anything. We haven't been together. When we have, it hasn't ben good. We haven't made a lot of shots in practice. If you don't make it in practice, you probably aren't going to in the game. We just have to get going, that's the bottom line.

it's crazy how much of inverse the Rockets are compared to the Warriors. They do all the small things, pass the ball, shoot free throws well, play unselfishly, take good shots, play team D, superstars who don't iso-ball every play, no ****talking and whining.

Again I think people are way overreacting right now. The comments are a little ridiculous. Talking about Harden being overrated, the team playing for the lottery. It's nonsense. They have played two horrible games in season of 82. This team has battled bigger adversity than this last yea . I have enough faith in this team and James Harden to know they will figure this **** out. I really dont think it's as big of a deal as many are making it out to be. So I'm just going to sit back and when we start rolling in the wins just going to a mile because I didn't get all hysterical when things got dicey.

This is the deepest the Rockets have been in a while.

This has to be on the coaching staff.

I've been telling you guys all pre-season that we look terrible. You just have to watch the games objectively (and ignore our announcers) and you will see it.

    We don't move the ball.

We switch on every screen because our players have no idea when to switch and when not to, so they're probably told to just switch anyway.

Dwight Howard hasn't been playing at a superstar level since he left Orlando.

Tonight was a classic example of how Dwight takes himself out of games. Fouled the guy to pick up his 4th maybe on the fast break. Lucky he wasn't thrown out at the end of the game when he batted the ball away from the official. He's a whiney little baby. Man the hell up, dominate the damn game.

They sent the double to dwight before he even caught the ball pretty much every single time. The second defender got there before he even caught the damn ball!! This is called predictable offense.

Do you guys see how the spurs set up post ups? Can you imagine Howard on the spurs multiple screens, ball movement, quick entry pass into the post, move, score?

Our problem is our overall offensive strategy is there is no strategy. This was what it was last year. It's "read and react" except there's now a year of tape on how we "read and react." Our unpredictable offense is predictable. True chaos is actually extreme complexity.

Something needs to change, because harden iso read and react isn't going to work this year. To those who say we should alternate harden and lawson isos with everyone around watching, that's even more dumb because Harden is vastly superior if you're gonna play iso read and react. There needs to be more motion in our offense, more offball movement, better passes.

Look, I went into the pre-season with championship hopes, because I really did think with the addition of Lawson and improved Capela/Jones we could do something. But it started becoming obvious during the preseason none of this was happening.

But our biggest problem is lack of ball movement and dwight howard.

Imagine trading Howard for Draymond green (BTW can you guys not appreciate his ridiculous passing abilities???This is why he's a top 20 player in the NBA) Now we have a team.

Not having enough practices together and pre season games together is showing. Chemistry will come around through

Offense will come around, it has to. The 3s will fall soon.

What's concerning is the defense, or the lack of it. The players look like chicken without it's head, just running around doing nothing. There's way too many switches being made on defense. It's unnecessary.

This team sorely needs a 3-point specialist if they want to continue taking only 3s. Someone that the other teams must focus on the defense like a Korver (maybe Morey can trade for him before the deadline). No one fears Beverly, Ariza, Brewer, and Lawson taking 3s.

When you make you're shots you're defense is better so I think once the shots fall we will see an improvement there. We still don't seem to be communicating well if at all. That needs to change. Would like to see Ariza become more vocal on the defensive side. Stop switching too, that's killed us going back to last year. It must be a coaching decision?
