This game should mark our progress defensively. Last time Dirk went off for a gazillion. Can we keep him under control and force him to take tougher shots? Or does he go off on us again? Come on Rox. Show us something real.

The game will be decided by the 2nd best center in the league. Be it yao or Dampier ... :D

This is one of those games where the Rockets can potentially be blown out.

Dampier is a Yao stopper. There won't be any gimmes for Yao this game. Yao needs to practice his jumper. He'll need it to pull Dampier away from the paint to allow TMac to drive to the bucket.

    10% chance Rox can win.

Mavs is too tough for Rox.

Who's second best, Yao or Dampier?
Sadly, only that is what both of them can contest for today. I hope Yao wins, and the Rox as well. They claim they've turned the corner. Now is the time to prove it.

Last meeting the Rockets proved that they have no one that can stop Dirk. Last meeting the Mavs proved they have no one that can stop Tracy. The Rockets are playing better then last time they met the Mavs but the Mavs are playing better too with terry playing the point and shooting a VERY high percentage.

Of course the odds are for the Mavs but if Tracy can have an explosive game and the Rockets can create some sort of defensive scheme to stop Dirk and not let anyone else get off... the Rockets have a shot. (Of course if any team could create this scheme they'd have a shot against the Mavs so not really saying a whole lot).

Personally, and most of you will probably laugh at me... but I'd like to see a couple of possessions where T mac actually guards Dirk. Dirk honestly is more of a three then four and seeing T macs D against the Nba's elite (Kobe and Melo) i think in short spurts he can slow down Dirk. Also if any of u remember there was a play the last time these two teams played in over time where mcgrady was stuck guarding Dirk in over time and he stole the ball. Dirk thrives because he is much quicker then most fours but Tracy is much quicker then dirk so maybe .... just maybe...

Rockets win. I have a good feeling about this game, these are the matchups for the game:

PG Terry Sura---Both run all over each other. Both score 20 points
SG Finley Wesley Uh oh...Finley dominates Wesley
SF Howard McGrady Tmac is Tmac, 35 points
PF Nowitski Howard Dirk scores a quiet 30
C Dampier Yao Yao goes for 25/7, Dampier a non factor

Key matchup is Wesley and Finley, I dont think Wes is big enough to guard Finley, but if he is somehow able to stop him, the Rockets roll. If not, which I am expecting, it is a close game, but McGrady will go bonkers again and the Rockets will win.

    Rockets 108 Mavs 103
