Golly. It might be because this isn't The Stepford League. All NBA players are not alike, and that includes the best of them. Harden clearly, at least to my eyes, plays better when his minutes have been reduced over a stretch of time, or when he's been rested. While I don't have a raft of stats to throw at you concerning the idea, that's how I see the guy. In other words, I think bringing up other top players and making a comparison to Harden, implying that all round pegs should fit the same square hole, is rediculous, with all due respect.

Harden isn't Jordan, and Jordan wasn't Harden. It isn't that complicated.

not to mention, isn't it painfully obvious his minutes affect him in April? McHale's not going to rest Harden because there is no other option. We are a 35-40 win team when Harden sits.

It's a large part of why we need another creator on the perimeter, in my opinion.

McHale talks all the time about wanting to get his minutes down, so it definitely seems like a concern from their POV.

    +1

I have been posting annual rant threads about this for like 3 or 4 years running now.

It is a hope many of us have. So far, that's all it is. A hope.

I hear what you are saying Deckard. But this is a young 25-26 year old superstar we are talking about. As long as I've been watching pro basketball the Superstar player always played heavy minutes. Would I like to see his minutes cut down some, yes sir. But unfortunately that's not going to happen no time soon.

Ms. KlutchQT McHale's says a lot of things that doesn't change. Harden's minutes is one of them.

No doubt. Hopefully Morey will address this during the trade deadline.

    It is a problem.

But I am thinking what this game would have been like
without harden and I am thinking not good things.

I agree with you. His minutes per game on the season are fine with me.

And when you consider that since Brewers first game with us Harden is averaging 34.2 minutes per game, I don't see what people are so bent out of shape over.

Yes but just because you can, doesn't mean you have to though.

His minutes have decreased since Corey got here. I expect they'd go down more if we got a second creator... I don't think they'd play him heavy minutes if they didn't need to. I hate how much we ask of Harden, honestly.

Indeed. I am hoping Morey pulls a creator out of his bag of tricks 4 sho, preferably Dragic or even Lawson.

I think the point he was trying to make was not to compare Harden to Jordan as actual players, but their roles and the minutes they played because of that role.

Look at just about any star players minutes. Even Duncan, back when he was young, had several seasons where he played more minutes per game than any year Harden has so far.

Teams generally ride their young stars. There will always be a handful of exceptions, but they are exactly that. Exceptions.

Every Superstar I seen play did it, not just the goat.

Damn that... Harden is probably deciding how many minutes he plays... Not McHale. Lol...
