That's their responsibility. Fans criticize becasue they love them to have high-caliber performance. But please I am tired of those fake fans who can only throw crap and pretend he's only one knows why we lost game.
The problem with that logic is that Bowen wasn't playing the 3 in the 4th quarter. He was at the 4 spot. McGrady was at SF and getting lit up by Matt Harpring.
Wasn't it Barry who said something like it's hard to get up for the "garbage teams"? Looks like he was right.
You know what bothers me? Attitude like that. Be it a casual fan, or a sports write, or a teammate, nobody should take anything granted. If you can't appreciate something good, you don't deserve it. If Yao plays well, ok, he's 7'6, he got all the support and love, that's the least he could do. If he missed something, those teammates lost confidence in him, blah blah, do you really buy into that everytime you copy and paste? If you lose confidence in him after he misses a couple of shots, rebounds, or plays passively for a quarter, well, you won't have it in the rest of the game. As a teammate, you don't have much choice, either trust him or just ignore him and lose. By the way, which teammate told you that? 610 callers ripped everyone on the team after a lose, especially in the beginning of the season, do you really think they (coach and players) would care? It's 82 games season. It's just not right to bring up your Odom trade after every Rockets' loss. By the way, Lakers lost to Raptors today. And Mihm + Odom + Butler didn't do well at all, so they lost despite a very good game from Kobe and Atkins.
Yao had 2 horrible game, no one is denying that. What piss me off is some people's whole purpose of following the Rockets is to bashing Yao endlessly and get him to be traded to LA. Yes, I'm looking at you Charvo!
Hey go look up the posts from this guy "lhphpl" telling a couple of people to shut up and take a hike, now that's respectible behavior isn't it? I critiqued Ming's rebounding when the game was close not when it was lost. When Sura is out the sign of leadership or being the second option of the team is to compensate with greater rebounding intensity especially that's the case when your the bloody center of the team. Look what howard has done in the past 3 weeks. He got criticism before today's game of only getting 9 rebounds for the past two games but stepped up today to get 11 and he is not one of the supposed leaders of this team (looking at Yao). yao got the same critque today and he stepped up with a resounding 4 like last game. what does that say about Ming. If we are in a playoff situation those lack of rebounds from the center position will kill us and that is not eveing taking into account the weak passive layups that should be bloody dunks. Is Yao a second option of this team or not? If he is he is going to get these critiques if he is Not then he will get srub treatment, you can't have it both ways.
The Rockets need to throw the full MLE at a legit SF so TMac can go back to playing the 2. TMac is getting exposed defensively with his inability to defend against posting up small forwards. I'd go with Radmanovic. If the Rockets can't get him, I'd go for Bobby Simmons of the Clippers.
I have to say though when the Rox lose, pretty much all the blame goes to Yao... During the Sonics game , when T-Mac has 17, and Yao had 30 nobody said anything about Tracy playing badly.... Yes Yao had a bad game today, but the Rox were also 0-11 from 3 pt range..... Don't even get me started on the referees
The Rockets gave up 17 offensive rebounds to a Utah Jazz team missing Carlos Boozer and you're worried about the SF position? If Yao's not man enough to grab more than 4 boards(in consecutive games no less), we need to get a PF in here desperately.
TMac is vulnerable to the post up. Al Harrington, Darius Miles, Rashard Lewis, now Harpring have all killed TMac with the post up.
That's not the right answer for the post. I did not praise Yao in my post. Everyone on the earth knows Yao has rebound problem. And everyone should take the player's down time. We can criticize everyone but not the crap like wasting of space blah blah..., but why you cannot take something like that if you are the one who throw those craps first? I did not see you post these in those 8 winning streak when Yao is doing wonderful, and shoot more then 60% almost every game. Hey go look up the posts from this guy "lhphpl" telling a couple of people to shut up and take a hike, now that's respectible behavior isn't it? I'm just pointing to an area in which I think the Rockets do need to address in the offseason roster-wise. What the hell can they do with Yao? Nothing. He is what he is. The Rockets need to get stronger at the small forward. I'm tired of seeing the small forward post up whoever (TMac or Bowen) and just score with relative ease.
You can't blame the PG's not giving Yao the ball. Look at Yao today. See any confidence in him? What happend to all those dunks he was throwing down during our win streak? He's virtually gone back to layup drills. (not to mention missing some too) I wouldn't pass to a teamate if all he's gonna do is brick layups and fumble the ball, especially when you have another (T-Mac) that's playing better. For Yao to be more productive, all he needs to work on is staying out of foul trouble. Rockets play so much better when he's not sitting out with fouls. Come on Yao, you can do it!! As far as rebounding goes for Yao... I will never expect him to avg more than 11 rebounds a game. I just hope he can one day get us a consistant 10-11. He's just not athletic enough to snatch rebounds, and I wish he'll prove me wrong. Anywho, it was just a horrible game for the team. Hope they'll realize it and play better next game. *Currently trying to find the receipt to my All-Star Yao jersey* Go Rockets! Be tough Yao be tough! I haven't gave up on Yao, but he just doesn't deserve my $81.18 I spent last weekend.
this is insane. whole team and Yao all play quietly and people here only blame yao. Tmac also miss a very very easy lapup and people only blame yao's missing lapup. the there is noball pass at all and everyone keep the ball too long and Jazz can early defend us. Yoa been play very good for long time and you guy not allow him for one crap game also Jazz shot so well in the 4th and lots of long rebounding today
