Cluchcity.net International Fans Just Wondering how many of y'all are located outside of Houston, especially those located outside the country. I'm in Indonesia.... and i know there's an aussie here but I was just wondering how many nations are being represented here..... "Clutchcity.net International" Is what i see this place as
My situation is a bit stranger than most: My dad was in the US army and I was born overseas (Izmir, Turkey). Technically, both the US and Turkish governments claim me as a citizen. I was also raised (and went to school) in Italy and Germany, currently live in Atlanta and am in the process of moving to Spain. You can now see why I always hesitate when people ask me where I'm from. They look at you like "It's not that hard a question", but for me it is! Anyway, I guess I could be called American, Turkish, or just European. By the way, I became a Rockets fan when I attended UoH back in early 80's and went to the Cougar games.
I don't know if it counts officially as a separate country yet, but I work in the People's Republic of Berkeley, CA. (Signs posted at the Berkeley city limits inform you that you are entering a "Nuclear-Free Zone." The list of holidays on parking meters includes "Indigenous Peoples Day," known to the rest of America as Columbus Day.)
Although I have fun whenever I visit the Independent Republic of Texas, I maintain my residence in the states (Utah to be exact).
I was born and raised in Houston, but ive been living in the United Arab Emirates, in a city called Dubai for 11 years now. I became a Rockets fan watching a replay of the 1994 NBA finals. that's when i switched from being a Bulls Fan to a die-hard Rocket fan.
Porto Alegre, Brazil. Home of GrĂªmio Football Porto Alegre, one of Brazil's biggest and most succesfull soccer teams! www.gremio.net I used to like the Blazers, but I became a fan for good when Clyde came to the Rockets, and I became addicted for life when the Chuckster arrived....
SHALOM from Israel I`m a proud Rockets fan for the last 13 years. you guys might be surprised to know that are many Rockets fans here in Israel... Dan Lederman
CompaqC, UAE? That's cary....What are the chances? I'm from the UAE too, and in Dubai, LOL! I became a Rockets fan cause.....well.....LOL......I just looked at all the teams....and decided I liked the Rockets.... Plus, being from the UAE, and the Rockets having a muslim by the name of Hakeem, that helped too
I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and moved to houston in 89 (when i was 5) and have been a huge rockets fan since about 92.
Yo Sane! I swear I thought i was the only human being in Dubai who's a Rocket fan! everyone here is either a Raptor or Laker fan. At times i even felt people in this BBS didnt even know what Dubai was. Great to know am not all alone
Just wanted to say that I'm in the UAE, but I'm Persian. Been here since birth, but barely speak persian or arabic. My whole family speaks English, and unlike almost everyone here, without the arabic/persian accent, lol.
I know, I was thinking the same thing! EVERYONE is a big-city, past-winner fan here. It's either Lakers/Portland/Bulls. LOL, Bulls fans have cooled down though, lol. Toronto should be big this time around with Vince and Hakeem. Oh, and Portland hasn't won squat, but they have all the ex-allstars, lol. Maybe I know you? Send me an e-mail, we'll talk.
LOL Sane! Three years ago, everyone was a Bulls fan, now for some reason, they either dont exist or cheer for the Raptors. And yes, i also was wondering if i knew you. i know alotta persians here. GO ROCKETS!
