We should win this with ease. I'm very interested to see the battle between the 1 position.

On ESPN,they wrote about who being the second-best center in the league behind of course "SHAQ" . To my surprised,they thought CLippers Kandi was the second best. I just find that really surprising. I do believe if Yao keeps his game up,he will be one of the top 5 centers in this league this year and that this is only his rookie season. Its amazing! However,I don't think the YAO vs SHAQ is fair to YAO because shaq will eat his lunch but I'm sure Yao won't back down. Yaos got enough to atleast let the big guy know that he'll come back for the next battle. Give him one more year, you will eventually see Sir Charles do something really freaky when he becomes one of the best top-5 players in the world. That was another bet by Barkley by the way. OH NO!

 

With Andre Miller coming to the Clipps, everyone thought they would be the "big" team to have a coming out party. Now look at them, everyone is playing for a contract, so they don't care about the team. They might be lucky to be this bad NEXT YEAR!

 

Hopefully, Wang will get chance to play today...he spended most time on the bench as a DNP. Really wanna see Yao gets Kandi into early foul trouble...then Zhizhi will have a chance....

 

I have a feeling this game may be more difficult than most would imagine. Hopefully we can get an easy win here, but I think the clips are better than their record. They have a lot of talent, and could break out any game with a big scoring night.

IMO, the matchup of the game is Miller vs. Francis. I think Steve will have a breakout game, after having some tough shooting performances lately. The biggest key is that we need to rebound and play good defense. If we can do that, the rest will fall into place.

 

Welcome Sway, I agree it would be interesting to see Zhi Zhi play against Mr. Ming.

 

The Clippers have a lot of talent. They need to put it together as a team. Hopefully they won't be able to it done against us today, but we have to play smart,move the ball around and get good shots,defend and rebound consistantly. We are going to miss Mobley but we can still win.

 

I hope Zhi Zhi plays as well.

blackwidow89, your starting to get irritating. You've posted that exact same thing in THREE threads already. One would be enough... like this one.

 

I thought about that actually, but Wang makes too much money now, and Bateer hasn't played to prove that he's shaken off foul trouble problems. By foul trouble, I'm talking games in which he fouled out in 12 minutes, 15 minutes, 5 fould in 10 minutes. Unbelievable how that guy couldn't grasp the rules.


Anyway, about the game. Kandi has really improved, and I'm afraid, on the defensive end, Ming will have trouble against him. Brand will get his usual 20 and 10, but I'm worried it will be 30 and 15 this time. Mo is shaking off some rust, Griffin is not strong enough, and K is too small to be effective against Brand. No doubt, their inside game will hust us big time.

But that's not the end of it. Maggette is playing great, and against Rice, he may get to the basket with incredible ease on every attempt.

I propose we play Rice and the 2 and hawkins at the 3. I'd rather have Rice on Piatowski and Hawkins on Maggette.

Here's what we have: a bench. This game, we don't need big offense. We need Francis to score, the bench to score a little, but most importantly, we have to play tough tough tough D.

I predict a W, with Francis getting 28 points and 9 assists. Ming finishes with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

I watched a little of the Clippers on ESPN the other night, and I can't believe how much Kandi has improved. He is looking more and more like the guy they thought they had when he was picked #1. Rockets big men are gonna have their hands full with Kandi and Brand today.

I wouldn't expect Yao to have quite the game that he's been having lately, since he's got a pretty good defensive center on him. A double-double would be very nice. Make the Clips play a perimeter game and we win easily.

If the Rockets played well the same way they played in Washington, and if Francis gets a big liftoff then we will win by a huge margin.

 

Rockets should win this game but it will be packed with some interesting match ups to watch. I'll enjoy watching Ming play well against the Kandi man and of course, his fellow country man Wang. I think Brand is way too strong for Griffin so I think it'd be best for Taylor to guard him, possibly Thomas. Hopefully Francis can learn a thing or two about being a point guard from Miller, it's not all about flash.
