A great game is in the offering, as long as Steve doesn't try to get in a personal competition with Kidd. We must play our game! ( whatever that is) and encourage Griffin to go to the basket. If Francis can only play a few minutes at a time try to get Moochie minutes in with the starters.

The New Jersey newspaper was complaining about how the Nets haven't shot well in losing 6 of their last 7. Let's hope the Nets don't come out of their slump in this game. Let's hope that the Rockets can shoot. And let's take advantage of the Net's lack of a true inside presence.

Griffin and Taylor have to score and defend well against Martin.Francis needs to have a good all round game but he has got to pass better and get his shots down. Posey/Hawkins have to go up against Jefferson and slow him down. Our only advantage is Yao who needs to keep out of early foul trouble,Cato is missing because of injury which hurts us. Rice and Mobley have to make their jump shots to keep us going.
I thinks the Nets have the edge right now because the Rockets have very little confidence in themselves but if we start out well and can sustain it for some time then it will become a very interesting game.

With Steve possibly out because of the flu it's going to be hard to win.Moochie and Tito have a big job tonight.

Before the last game I was depressed, devoid of optimism, ticked at Francis and refused to make a prediction... that the team would have to prove itself to me the rest of the season.
    And we won!

So I refuse to make a prediction.

Another slumping team? Rockets surely have to come out very very strong, otherwise .........

I felt differently earlier, but I've realized that every single team/player in this league that is in a funk/slump breaks out of it against the Rockets. It's unbelievable to watch, and i would pay tons of money to know why this happens.

We just have this ability to break other people's slumps.

Also, Steve is not healty, and that's true even if he plays.

I worry that the Nets run n gun style is too much for Yao, while K-Mart and Jefferson will shutdown Taylor and Mobley in our halfcourt game.

    Of course, knowing the Rockets...

    Rockets 99
    Nets 90

    :D

If we win this, we'll be at least tied for 8th 4 games from now.

oh, and if francis is out, 92-82 nets take it. and if francis plays we will do better. maybe it would just be 92-83 nets take it.

    lets see...

this is a tough team thats a minus for the rox
they're in a slump thats a minus for the rox
it's at home, thats a minus for the rox
we're coming off a win, thats a minus for the rox
rudy is still coaching, thats a minus for the rox
eddie is still starting, thats a minus for the rox
posey is still playing, thats a minus for the rox

yao plays for us, thats a plus for the rox
francis is sick, thats a plus for the rox

7 minuses to 2 pluses, looks like the odds aren't in our favor.

I hope I'm wrong, but I just get the feeling that Kidd will pick us apart, and Kmart will have a big game against our PFs. Nets are just too explosive for us to handle.

    Nets: 98
    Rox: 89
