Guys, I went and voted down the street from me at a public park in the gym. The gym was re-done about 1 1/2 ago and has a full hardwood court. It's BEAUTIFUL. They require that you have a group or league or something if you want to use the court each week. They may even require some kind of fee or deposit. I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested in a regular hang. The court is here in the Heights and I'd be happy to check into it if anyone is interested.
That realy is cool, and I really wish I could be part of this, but I just think that the commute would be a little too much for me.
I'm short, white, over weight and out of shape, but I have an old school red white and blue basket ball and I'd love to play. I live in the Heights also so it's in the hood. Let us know the details and lets get it together.
i'd be down for thanksgiving and xmas! . . . from my desperation, i guess you can tell i'm just a sad guy who's friends have all gotten too old and lazy to play basketball with him in Austin
Forget basketball...We need to get together and have regular bowling hangouts...at least we'll be able to drink beer and eat greasy nachos!
I'm in. This will give me another excuse to move out of the suburban wasteland of Kingwood and back to the best neighborhood in Houston.
I think Jeff is suggesting a weekly game. Sounds like you have to be a regular group to reserve the court as a "CC.NET BBall Hangout." If so, how many of you guys would commit to once a week?? That would be sooo cool, but knowing the way the Rec center on West Gray does it, it is likely to be a weekday night, so it might interfere with Rockets games. anyhow, that is super cheap. Money is an insignificant issue...it is the weekly commitment that is the issue at West Gray. It's like you need 20 guys in the group to guarantee 5 on 5 each week, or a verrrry committed 12-14 guys.
