That would be a nice lineup with SAR, Brand, Magette, & Mobley. Then again, Brand and SAR are both 4's and Magette is stuck in between a 2 &3. THE CLIPPERS ARE THE WORST FRANCHISE IN SPORTS!!!!

Shareef Abdur-Rahim has reportedly been offered a deal by the L.A. Clippers.
Still no word on where he's headed, as the Kings, Nets, Heat, Rockets and Bucks are also interested in him. Jul. 14 - 1:06 pm et

Maybe it's to spite the Nets for having to pay Kittles last year.

SAR could play some three. I hope this encourages Thorn to relent and give up the pick. If NJ lets SAR get away from them and we lose Swift as a result, I'm going to tear my hair.

I think the Clipps would just want him to increase their tradeable assetts.

SAR would obviously want to sign with them to get paid, as well as to increase the number of years he's missed the playoffs.

Because they want to get rid of Brand's massive contract.

I would think it sets up a Brand trade. What could they get for Brand? Some kind of star, or expiring and picks - 'cause the market has changed, and they don't care about winning. You never know with them. Anyway, if SAR would come in for 6-7 mil, they exit Brand's deal - 4 years - 13,14,15,16. He's not a franchise player, so maybe they want to save coin.

You know, it would be funny if Brand were traded back to Chicago for Curry, a point, expirings and picks.

It would also be sweet to see the Steve and Cuttino show again. :).

Its all part of CD's masterfully crafted plan.

The Clips sign SAR to a decent deal then immediately trade EBrand to Houston for expiring contracts (damn Sterling that cheapo)

    EBrand for CSpoon / Moochie
    S&T ADaniels for JHoward
    Sign Swift w/ the MLE

Next years starting line up looks like.

    ADaniels / MJames / LHead
    BSura / TMac / LHead
    TMac / BSura
    EBrand / Swift
    Yao / Deke / Swift

Sounds like a pretty good team to me?

SAR is useless to the Clips and the Clips have no use for SAR - SAR wants to start on a playoff team

They have Mobley for the 2, Magette at the 3, and Brand at the 4

that proposed trade to get brand, swift, and daniels would be genius, great, and......impossible.

SAR can't play small forward... and he certainly wouldn't take a pay-cut to play a reduce role behind Brand on the Clippers.

I just checked SacBee.com and saw no mention of this. Did you get this off another message board? And *always* post a link to any article blurb you post. I'm starting to doubt the validity of this rumor..

Maybe, the Clips are thinking to trade Brand for Richardson (NJ) to fullfill their SG needs once and for all with Mobley coming off the bench. If they did that, they'd be playoff bound.

I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Brand if they acquired SAR. The only reason Brand got that huge contract is because cheapo Sterling had to meet the MINIMUM payroll. SAR can put up almost the same numbers at PF for less than half the price. In return, the Clips would get like a bajillion draft picks for Brand. I'd give up all our expirings for Brand.

Actually, on second thought, I'd rather not have three max contracts weighing the team down. I'd rather have a lesser PF at the MLE.

I could live with a third max deal if it was for a guy like Brand in his prime. It would be mistakes like Webber (contract well outlasting his prime) that would torpedo the franchise.

That said, the chances of our landing Brand for expiring contracts is virtually nill. The Clips would have far better offers flooding their phone lines.
