LOS ANGELES -- Thieves stole $500,000 in cash, jewelry and other items from the Bel-Air home of Los Angeles Clippers guard Cuttino Mobley, authorities said Sunday.

Mobley's home was burglarized Saturday night, Los Angeles police officer Mike Lopez said. He declined to release details or whether detectives had any suspects.

Man, I'm sorry, but if you have 500,000 cash just sittin' around the house....I'm not sure I'm too sympathetic to you. If you're gonna have that much cash at home, I'd have a very well secured safe to put it in.

It was 500 thousand in cash, jewelry and other items. i.e. the total worth of everything taken was over 500 thousand dollars. Furthermore, it said nothing about just laying around the house. It may well have been in a safe.

Maybe the Rocket Robin Hood stole it..
and gave the money to Ralph Sampson and Vernon Maxwell to help them in their times in need.

I think it was Stevie, looking for his missing game. Looks like he found it, too -- a triple double tonight!

For all we know they could have stolen an earing, the piggybank with pennies in it, and 2 Ferraris.

Ah, he will live! half-a-mil for a guy like him is like the average person getting robbed for $40.

yea, he deserved it right? just like how people who don't lock their car doors deserve to have their stereos stolen? or parents who leave their kids for a few seconds deserve to have them kidnapped?

one's home should be a secured place. i don't recommend anyone laying 500 grand around the house, but that doesn't mean it should be stolen. and what amount would be low enough to garnish your sympathy? $50,000? $50?

I'm thinking that Steve was looking for some of Cat's pumps or some underwear, Chris Elliott in Something About Mary Style.

There are few things more violating then having your stuff rooted through & stolen. Cat isn't Mother Teresa, but he's close to the NBA equivalent: it's always sad when people who are trying to make the world a better, happier place are vicitimized. We Love You Cuttino.

It said cash, jewlery and other items. We all know Mobley is crazy about fashion. If they took his jewelery drawer, that could be $400k right there, some different watches(rolexes, etc), chains, earrings, rings. You would be surprised how much them high end clothes could cost also. Take all his high-end designer leather jackets. Sports collectibles(he is a basketball fan afterall :) ) like a an autographed unwashed Steve Francis Rockets jersey complete with game sweat for 82 games. ;)
