Lol, what? Never in the history of the NBA has the 2 spot been so weak. Can't be based on basketball reasons.
How so? He's a better pure shooter than either Delfino or Garcia, and plays much better defense than Korver. Plus, he's arguably a better passer than all 3...
You have to compensate for the black coach somehow. Old money white men are predictable like that. #Utah #DonaldSterling http://40minutesofhell.blogspot.com/2011/01/more-proof-that-donald-sterling-has-no.html
Nah dude, I like him for what he is but that's limited and a liability when the game slows down. No handles, slow, short and an average defender. Good spot up shooter, shaky coming off screens against long NBA competition. I give him a bball IQ edge over the likes of Delfino and Garcia but doesn't have the athleticism or size to put it to good use.
Nope. Someone will put up numbers on the worst team in the league when given minutes. They dropped off significantly once he was traded. Allen and Martin were signed to market value. You can argue Allen is underpaid with his defensive impact AGAINST STARTERS. Tiago is coming off his rookie contract and has legit size and skill. This is an undersized 2 who can't handle. Can't penetrate. Good defender for his size but average for his position. Even if he amounts to a guy who knocks down jumpers in the open spaces Paul creates, he's still $10 million over market value. The saving grace of the trade is DUDLEY. I'm all for looking the other way and hoping for the best, but when you're right on the brink of contending for a title and over the cap, you have to get value for your role players. Giving up Bledsoe and Caron's expiring, you can get a lot more than pricing the Bucks out of a spot up shooter. For comparison sakes, Louis Williams signed for 3 years, $15 million. Korver, 3 years, $15 million. Mike Miller was signed to a smaller contract coming off a 17 and 7 season shooting 45% from 3PT and he has LEGIT size. Bump this thread come April.
Unbelievable when Kevin Martin got 4 years, 28 million... which sounds like a fair deal for him. Redick ought to be laughing all the way to the bank.
Reddick is a good team defender, sure he's short and slowish, but he will always slide under roll men, make sure his man beats him the right way, basically winning basketball for a guy of his athletic ability. Kevin Martin on the other hand is just a useless waste of space on that end, he was poor while he was here, but last year he was in the running for the NDPOY. I also a lot of this is the clippers sticking it to the lakers, with each passing day, the clippers look better and the lakers look...
