The proposed Clinton Presidential Library is shown in an artists rendering Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in Little Rock, Ark. The artwork shows the building at night. (AP Photo/William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation) caption game? comments?
Clinton's Presidential Library will soon replace the Tower at the University of Texas at Austin as the most obviously phallic symbol in the United States.
Is that a Presidential Library in your pocket....... I guess I've seen worse looking buildings, but I don't know where.... The worst part is that it really will stick out like a sore thumb (or other body part) since the rest of the stuff on the river is so different. My main question is whether they're still calling that old train bridge the "Bridge to the 21st Century" or whatever hokey name they said they were going to call it a few years ago.
MAN, ive been to the Nixon library in California and i mean they had a whole little hallway on the Watergate scandal. You cant forget stuff like that happened. So i guess they will have to mention Clinton's impeachment and everything. i mean thats pretty significant. thats going to be a damn hard thing to explain and still have people leaving with respect for the man.
RM95 I agree that the design of this building will lead to that thought, but I believe that currently, the building formerly known as Transco Tower, ahem, stands long, hard and tall above the rest when it comes to buildings as phallic symbols.
This young lady won the Clinton Library Intern Scholarship given away yearly to the brightest female student in the class...CONGRADULATIONS on a "job" well done!!
That is the most ill-placed building I have ever seen. My wife is from Little Rock and I've been down to that area of town many times...it's right on the river and in sort of an old warehouse district of downtown...the buildings are very traditional...red brick and the like. looks like your typical mid-sized Southern downtown....and then they introduce the Death Star. Ummmm...I'm guessing that library will stick out like a sore thumb...much like it does in that picture next to a very traditional looking bridge.
