Sometimes the most valuable player to a team is not the flashiest Often it is a guy that is stable, does the dirty work, anchors the defense and allows others to do their thing That is PRECISELY what Clint offers us He anchors our defense and covers up the defensive limitations of Harden He finishes around the rim about just as well as any big in the league and more importantly, plays within his game (unlike Dwight Howard etc) If we did not have Clint, I think we would be no where near how good we are now if we had Nene start instead However if we were missing either Harden or Paul, I think we can still somewhat get by as Eric Gordon etc. can fill in somewhat Thoughts my fellow Rocket fans?
He has been our most consistent player during this playoff run so far. More consistent than Harden and Cp3. Big impact on both ends regularly.
We are not winning anything if Capela is expected to be anything more than our third string G League center. Yule C
We should sign him to a contract made out of ice cream and pay him in ice cream. Twenty million ice creams a year.
He is going to cost us alot of money. I just hope we don't bid against ourselves and somehow get Anderson off of this team.
Dwight could never guard on the perimeter like Capela is doing. Clint has literally the perfect body type and background in international football that can exploit the rules of the new NBA. In this league where everyone switches to avoid the illegal screens that have since become legal in the post-Curry era, Capela is the answer to the future of big men.
How he plays in the GSW series will probably play a role in how much the Rockets pay him. If he can handle switches on Curry and Klay he will get big minutes, otherwise we will have to use LMAM more. Capela is one of the best stories in NBA right now but he still has to prove he can handle the end boss of small ball.
I'm not a braggart but I've got to throw this out for the record, so next time I say something stupid, maybe, yall won't think I'm a *total* dumbass: 2 years or less of NBA strength and conditioning, nutrition, big man work with McHale & others, repetitive shooting, and he's an All Star or at least borderline. Lol nice. Looking through that thread, it seems like most of clutchfans knew how good he was going to be. Or at least knew his potential. I guess when you’ve got a couple idiots that talk loudly, it drowns out the people that can actually project players.
