Not wearing my seatbelt bailed me from paying an even larger fine (got a warning for failure to yield instead).
Forcing people to do thing? The seatbelt law ain't got isht to do with protecting people it is just a big ole money grab!! MONEYMONEYMONEYMONEY Rocket River
Friday while waiting in line at toll booth at toll bridge I witnessed a constable on foot hiding behind the toll booth. When anybody not wearing a seatbelt paid thier two bucks the officer stepped out in front of car and told them to pull over to the side for thier ticket. I was just thinking how bad it would suck to be them.
If people want to risk their lives by not wearing a seatbelt than let them. Now if you give them a ticket for not having their little child strapped up then I agree with that.
I thought about that also. I asked the 'toll taker' What's going on with them, and she said click it or ticket. I guess you have to tell it to the judge.
Why is it that all the laws used to 'protect' us end up being so profitable for the city bureaucrats?
True...but there's also an interest of public safety. Nothing good comes out of unnecessary injuries or death from car accidents, especially if they can be mitigated by a simple strap. I understand the "let people do what they want" and "forcing people to do something" argument and I guess I agree with that for the most part. But I would not agree with the amount of time and resources that would likely be spent on the injuries and deaths caused by not wearing a seatbelt. Look at how much traffic a simple fender bender on the freeway can cause, just imagine how much there would be if medical assistance was needed for most of those.
Exactly. In the last few years, i've seen tickets go from $25 on up to $125 for no seatbelt. Me and a buddy went camping over the weekend and game wardens setup a spot in the middle of no where.
