I was just thinking about the young, explosive, and talented players that the Cavs have begun building their organization around. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Cavs fan in the least, but on paper, it looks good....but until they start to totally develop their own games as individuals and as a team, that's the only place it will look GOOD. Seriously though.....Andre Miller was and will be a top 5 PG for years, and he will be missed in Cleveland, but with the potential of DeJuan Wagner, Darius Miles, and Sagana Diop, he might be replacable or even forgetable. All of those guys are freaks, athletically (at their respective positions). And then, of course, they have Chris Mihm, a good PF/C, Ilgauskas, another talented center, Jumaine Jones, Carlos Boozer, and Lamond Murray. The way I see it, they are set at the PG and SF positions (unless Wagner turns out to be a better SG). They have talented shooters in Trajan Langdon and Trepagnier....let's just see where they go!
And, since the worst team never gets the #1 pick (thank you, God, for Yao Ming), Tank-a-Thon 2003 for LeBron will prob'ly not work.
...and they'll all be on new teams, because Cleveland is turning into Clippers East...and that's assuming that Cleveland lands LeBron in the first place!
A-Train - well i could have said... diop will be the next benoit benjamin only without the great college years. mihm will turn out to be slow and soft relying on jumpers to stay in the league like another luke longley. miles will leave after next year to play on a winning team...finally. they will miss out on james only to get stuck with a pick that doesnt fit like cris duhon. that will move wagner to the 2 guard spot where he will sacrafice his already non-existent defencive abilities trying to guard the kobes, Tmacs, and pierces of the nba. ...but i was trying to stay positive.
I think that Miles will bolt for other reasons (ie Cleveland sucks). Diop will sick mark my words, mediocre at best. Jumaine Jones is only ok, as is Lamond Murray. Chris Mihm will get Mihmed all day in the paint (where the real men are made), and stay true to form (soft). Wagner will be a one man show maybe (unproven and no he's not the next Iverson). Too bad they no longer have Langdon though I felt that he was quickly becoming an impact player in the mold of the great Chris Whitney .
I think that Wagner is overrated. He couldn't even lead his team the NCAA tournament. If he was going to be a superstar like some people think then he should've been able to atleast lead his team the NCAA tournament.
There were 65 Teams in the NCAA tourney and Memphis was alot better than many of them. They should have been there.
the cavaliers still have a ways to go when their starting point guard is a scorer and no one on that team has that much experience, but they'll be fun as hell to watch. this team will probly remind me of the 76ers when iverson was playing point only with more talent.
