Anybody else feel that if the guy goes back to Cleveland, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that he gets a ring? I mean, what exactly has Cleveland ever won? I can tell you what they've lost...see: 1987 Browns, 1997 Indians, and LeBron's very own '09-10 Cavs. If LBJ's smart, he goes to a team that has a history of winning. New York seems to fit the bill, as does Chicago. Miami won a title in '06 which is more than Cleveland has ever done. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/michael_rosenberg/05/12/cleveland/index.html The above article is from a couple of months ago, but it pretty much hits the nail on the head in talking about Cleveland's tortured sports history (the article stemmed from Cleveland's horrendous Game 5 loss to Boston in the Eastern Conference semis). The 1964 Browns were the last championship team in the city. You hear that, 'Bron? I think it's New York calling...err Chicago...maybe Miami? Get out of Cleveland while you can! Thoughts?
Looking at it from the other end of the spectrum, it would be quite the legacy if he led the tortured city of Cleveland to multiple championships.
http://www.forbes.com/2010/05/12/se...-business-sports-miserable-sports-cities.html Forbes actually ranked Cleveland as the 6th most miserable sports city...ouch.
Just because they haven't won in the past doesn't mean they won't win in the future. If they can put some decent players around LeBron, the Cavs are scary. Heck, they had the best record in the league last year with LeBron + scrubs.
I agree, but is that entirely feasible? I suppose, but they would have to undergo quite the makeover. The team they have now is definitely not built to contend for an NBA championship.
I do get the feeling karma is going to come back and bite this guy hard. He certainly has everything on his side when it comes to winning a ring or two or three but I just get the feeling the Celtics series was a turning point for him in a bad way.
