I just received word that Clevelands new unis, including Lebron James will go on sale June 27th. Pro Cut only.

I wouldnt think the date would have to do anything with the Rockets new unis, but it is intreseting to keep in mind the timeline here.

The Cavs unveiled the new unis in late April and it took them about 2 months to have them readily available for sale.

I wonder how the Rockets will compete with the Cavs uni schedule?

That is the day after the NBA Draft. They can't sell James jerseys until after they draft him. So that is why they are being sold after the draft.

As mentioned before, since the Rockets don't have a high draft pick this year they are NOT going to unveil their new unis at Draft time. Things can change of course but I doubt it.

Look for them to be unveiled sometime in July or August at the latest.

I think it has more to do with the draft taking place June 26th, and the Cavs making the official announcement, then using all the momentum from the draft to start selling the jerseys the next day...

still they could have been selling other players such as Miles and Wagner.

your right though, i didnt stop to think this is the day after the draft. that could very well have something to do with it.

just hope i dont have to wait 2 more months to purchase a new Rockets uni (if i like it).:p

Actually, I don't see how they can sell them until James is actually signed to an NBA contract.

They can't. This is exactly the reason why E.A. couldn't pu Yao Ming on their video game.

They can't but I bet he is signed to a contract as soon as he is drafted. Unlike the NFL in the NBA you can't sign players until right AFTER you draft them. I am sure right after he is drafted they will work hard to get him signed. It is not too tough to work out since NBA rookie contracts are sloted.
