Great service if you are in their service area... cheaper than cable internet by about $20/month... no complaints thus far... would recommend. Carry on. (No, I don't work for them.)
It's WiMax (hi-speed wireless Internet). It's in parts of Texas (Dallas, SA, Austin, Waco, etc.), but I don't think they have presence in Houston. At least not when I checked a while back.
What are your dl and upload speeds? In austin I get 10 mbps download and .5 mbps upload for 30/month on time warner.
Real time? As in "actually?" I had bursts of up to 13, or so it read, on TWC.... but with Clear it says 3 to 6 down and a minimum of 1 up, but really I get more every time I check it.
Also, on TWC I get the buffer symbol on just about every single YouTube video, especially during peak usage times... and I have yet to bog down my Clear.net speeds yet. I'm forever sold. Unless they change it.
Seeing as how they are basically letting Sprint use their backbone for the 4G stuff... Who knows, but yeah.
you can go to like speakeasy.net/speedtest and test it and post the graphic or whatever. Not all these things are perfectly accurate, but it's a good quick check I guess.
This is what I'm getting at work via TWC (in Austin): Last Result: Download Speed: 10478 kbps (1309.8 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 962 kbps (120.3 KB/sec transfer rate) I'm really torn about switching providers. I hate TWC with a passion. I would love to switch to DirecTV (esp. during football season), but I'm not confident in switching internet service. I get these Clear things on my door and in my mail almost daily. Hmmm...
