Anyone catch this? Dan Patrick talked about it on his show earlier today. I didn't see it first-hand, but I am surprised that no one here has brought it up.
Yesterday's game. Lebron took a shot with about 12 sec. left. He missed it and proceeded to walk off court while the Hawks rebounded and ran out the clock. It definitely didn't look good.
Who cares? Every game you see players on the losing team heading to the lockerroom without recognizing the other team. It's not a big deal, particularly in the regular season.
if there had been time left and extra possessions to play and he just walked off that would be one thing, but he missed out on 7 seconds of tyronn lue dribbling out the clock. oh no.
Randy Moss was crucified for doing the same exact thing. If it was Kobe, the media would be making a circus out of it. Just the way it goes. Gotta protect the golden child.
"He won't jump. He don't wanna mess his hair up." "I'll have to call you back." Reminds me of when Quitten (Pippen) took himself out of that playoff game in the no MJ year. btw- Always remember kids... MJ was in the playoffs during the Rockets second championship year... and couldn't hack it to meet the Rockets, who still would have whooped 'em.
You're comparing sitting out a game winning opportunity in the playoffs to not getting back on defense while the other team ran the clock out while up 9? Really? Even Randy Moss's team still had a shot of winning with a onside kick and touchdown in 2 seconds(as improbable as that is). This was actually overblown by the media. The game was already WAY over, and the Hawks just crossed the court and ran the clock out because they were up nearly double digits. If any non-star player does this, it doesn't even get mentioned.
the game was over and the Cavs had no chance to win. not a good move by Lebron, but being way overblown by ESPN and news outlets. it's a non-story for any other player in the league.
Come on.. Although he is an NBA superstar but doesn't always mean that he will perform the same way as a NBA veteran. He is still a kid. Give me another 3-4 years and his attitude would change
If Lebron was in LA or NY there would be a circus. And one football game means much more than one basketball game. Lebron comes off as a nice, personable guy. It gets you points.
What an ass...I don't care how he and his butt buddy SAS say it, he quit, period...If you want to pitch a fit, do it in the locker room, but not on tv... Just think if someone did that on Football, baseball, hockey or soccer...what a disgrace...
Doesn't seem like the right thing for him to do. But on the scale of wrong things to do this has to be pretty close to the bottom of the list. It isn't really that big of a deal.
