IMO, best crafted film ever.....from the direction to acting to cinematography to musical score......it would be very difficult for any future film to supplant it....

classic i've yet to see: Lawrence of Arabia

We just got DVR a few weeks ago and I've been catching up on movies that I hadn't seen.

    Rebel Without a Cause
    Bonnie And Clyde
    Chariots Of Fire

All in HD - not bad!

I got on a kick last year about watching "modern classics" and finally saw stuff like Shawshank, Pulp Fiction, LA Confidential, Se7en, and The Usual Suspects. I also watched The Godfather Pt. I last year as well. I haven't seen Pt. II yet. Two movies I have no desire to see for some reason: Casa Blanca and Citizen Kane.

It's actually a very good movie. Some really beautiful and creative cinematography.

Funnily enough, Lawrence of Arabia supplants it. At least the first half does, anyway. Rent it!

I love this movie. Classic both in written form and in film. You should definitely see it.

I actually went through a long period of time also without seeing:

    1) Pulp Fiction
    2) Scarface

For Pulp Fiction: Luckily, while I was home from college as a sophomore, it came on unedited on one of those premium classic movie channels. Glad I was able to catch it because it is one of my favorite movies now.

For Scarface: My senior year they were playing some "classic" movies at the local movie theater on like Thursday nights. Told my roommate at the time that we should go see it since I had never seen it. So, the first time I got to see Scarface was on a big-screen.

I also haven't seen a lot of the movies in this thread:
Godfather (saw bits and pieces of it during my film class my senior year of high school, but I mainly used that class to nap. Regret doing that now).
Schindler's List (another one that I only saw bits and pieces of during school).
Clockwork Orange (tried to watch it on the internet, but the file was corrupted about 20 minutes into the movie)
    Goodfellas

I'd really like to just have some kinda kick where I knock all of these movies out. Maybe I'll make a list...
